The Social Media Associate will work daily with the External Communications Director and closely with the public relations manager and marketing communications teams to assist in the execution of the external communications and industry marketing strategy through social media outreach. This role is responsible for day-to-day management of social media content both proactively and reactively.

Support the Social Media efforts through:

  • Manage company social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant platforms

o Creates compelling posts for company social media platforms

o Creates content that encourages audience interaction and drives audience to interact with additional content and resources on Company's website

o Draft monthly proactive calendars and coordinate day-to-day content

o Address daily updates

o Monitor activity and respond accordingly

o Work with external communications team to execute corporate projects to elevate Company's thought leaders

o Create monthly social channel analytics report to demonstrate impact of social media program

  • Works with external communications and industry marketing to develop and implement social campaigns (paid and organic) to raise the Company's brand awareness and convert opportunities to sales


  • Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Journalism required

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of professional social media, public relations, and/or marketing experience

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Knowledge of social media platforms

  • Familiarity with media relations and social media management and monitoring tools

  • Must be detailed-oriented and team player

The Chicago Music Exchange Social Media/Marketing interns are responsible for assisting in the ideation and creation of social media and other marketing outreach posts and campaigns. Chicago Music Exchange leverages photography and video for broadcasting our brand to the world. Are you creative? Do you love social media? Do you like writing? Do you like Photography? Do you like Video? Looking for a Team Player with the following experience: * In-depth knowledge of guitars, drums, and other musical instruments ability to play a plus! * Good communication skills; Must be well spoken, organized and articulate * Excellent computer skills. Experience with social media specialty software a plus. * Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a self-starter able to take direction. * Proven experience with graphic design and/or web. * Knowledge and experience with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other social media platforms. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. General Responsibilities Include: * Engaging with marketing team to execute ideas for innovative social media campaigns. * Assist with social media engagement by helping manage social channels. * Drafting, editing, and scheduling for social channels. * Monitoring social media analytics (e.g. views, followers, engagements), and provide reports of activity. * Assist with gathering data for marketing reports. * Assist with graphic design projects such as banner ads, posters, prints and web. * Experience with basic marketing web design is a plus. This internship is for college credit and runs from June/September. It is a non-paid internship with flexible hours (minimum 20 per week) to reflect the need of your college credit requirements.
