PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Social Media and Content Specialist will support the Content and Brand Manager (CBM) in managing Deer Valley Resort's social media presence, coordinating photography and videography, overseeing the digital asset management system, and leading content creation efforts. This role is crucial in enhancing the resort's digital footprint by managing the social media and content calendar and implementing efficient processes. Additionally, the specialist will proof emails for the CRM team, manage the resort's blog, and assist the Digital Experience Manager with website updates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Publish to social channels, and write on-brand copy to coordinate with engaging photo or video content across different social platforms
Lead content creation efforts by developing high-quality, social-first content tailored to various social media platforms, ensuring alignment with Deer Valley's brand voice, marketing objectives and business unit needs
Manage the resort's content and social calendar via Asana, coordinating with internal business units and external partners to ensure timely and consistent content delivery.
Monitor social media inbox messages and public pages to provide high-quality and timely guest service
Work closely with Events & Sponsorship Team and external partners to develop branded content and fulfil contractual commitments
Organize and update the company's Digital Asset Management system
Gain proficiency in key platforms, including but not limited to: Asana, Sprout Social, Pixlee, Shortstack, Netbase, Adobe Creative Suite (basic Photoshop & InDesign skills preferred), as well as relevant guest service
Compile insightful reporting on social media performance, aligning with objectives and key results
Help coordinate resort photo and video needs with freelance photographers and the creative agency
Assist with influencer and content creator programming
Assist with the digital sign content management and uploading
Attend weekly marketing staff meetings
Must be ready to work sixth and seventh day of the work week and early and late shifts when necessary
Help proof emails with the CRM team to ensure accuracy and brand consistency
Manage the resort's blog, including content creation, editing, and publishing
Assist the Digital Experience Manager (DEM) with website updates and content management
May also be recruited to work in other areas of operation (i.e., Food and Beverage, Guest Services) during peak season
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience growing and managing social media channels for brands
Demonstrated ability to create highly engaging, social-first content and execute social media campaigns and strategies
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments and leaders across the organization
Comfortable hosting and working with high-profile athletes, influencers and celebrities
Data-driven with ability to analyze social media trends and data to provide actionable insights and recommendations
Flexibility in schedule and job duties are required. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
Intermediate level of skiing ability is a minimum requirement as skiing to events, video/photo shoots, and providing tours is required
Proficiency in photography and videography is highly desirable
Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant work experience preferred
Hybrid work is available, during the peak summer and winter seasons, the majority of the job will require onsite presence
Uniform Requirement: The company provides ski uniforms to be worn when skiing for the company. Must provide their own additional ski equipment and attire that is commensurate with a business office (see employee handbook).
