SUMMARY
This is the ideal position for someone who has a passion for sports and/or entertainment and loves engaging fans through social media and storytelling. This position will be accountable for making a meaningful and measurable impact across our social media channels while driving overall social media engagement and growth. The right candidate will have proven social media and marketing experience, is creative, analytical and up-to-date on the latest social media trends. The position is a full-time, in-house position based from the company's headquarters in Carlsbad.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
Create strategy and content calendars for all social channels (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) with the goal of growing followers and fan engagement
Create, schedule and post authentic content that excites and entertains fans
Oversee, lead and grow team of community coordinators
Implement innovative marketing strategies that connect with different fan bases across social media
Work closely with product and marketing coordinators to create content and excitement thatsupports product launches and sales
Work closely with creative team on built-for-social content and style guide that incorporates animation, graphic design, product photography, GIF's and video
Create a strategy for encouraging and utilizing UGC
Develop relationships with key media, bloggers and social influencers to best tell the story of Upper Deck products and initiatives
Foster relationships and strategies with league partners and licensors to share updates and information through relevant social media channels
Ensure links, banners, backgrounds and highlights are actively maintained and updated
Strategize and execute brand collaborations, giveaways and other growth strategies
Manage budget for sponsored content and boosts to grow audience and engagement
Coordinate with customer care team on issues that arise in DMs and comments
Track and analyze social media performance and provide ongoing analytics
Implement tracking tools to gather detailed analytics with the goal of optimizing social media performance through best practices on content, post-timing, amplification, and influencer marketing
Analyze strategies from top-performing posts, best hashtags, athlete tags, post times, etc
INTERACTION
This position will interact closely with the VP of Marketing, Marketing Managers, Community Coordinators and Product Managers, along with other related staff members and key external parties.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Social Media Marketing Manager will oversee the team of Community Coordinators.
EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE
3+ years of experience overseeing social media strategy Expert knowledge of current social media platforms and trends Proven experience in copywriting, content planning and creation

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Expert knowledge in all relevant social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Discord, etc
A track record of growing large followings and engagement on social media, notably IG and TikTok
Proven ability to create engaging and high-quality social content including video
Knowledge of best practices using Reels, Stories, Live, etc
In-depth understanding of social media trends and pop culture
Creative eye for copy, video and design, and experience working with designers
Excellent planning, organization, and workflow management skills
Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision, exercising discretion and best judgment
Intelligent, organized and motivated self-starter who can work independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and manage deadlines
Familiarity with licensed collectibles, trading cards and/or games a plus
Strong ability to lead and work within teams
Must be responsible, dependable and honest
