The Department of Government and Politics at Wagner College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment in Sports Administration, beginning Fall 2024.
The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in Sports Management/Administration or a doctorate or other terminal degree in a related field, and be passionate about teaching and research.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach SA 102: Financial Decision Making for Non-Profits, as well as a wide variety of sport management/administration courses (e.g., sports marketing, sports finance, e-sports, etc.), design curriculum, assist with the establishment of internship opportunities for undergraduate students, provide strong academic advisement, and supervise internships. In addition to a successful teaching record at the undergraduate level, we seek candidates with an original research agenda that complements and enhances their teaching.
Essential Functions:
Teach 3 courses per semester (Fall and Spring)
Collaborate in developing curriculum and establishing new course offerings
Advise and mentor students pursuing the undergraduate degree in sports administration Participate in departmental functions and college-wide services
Pursue scholarly activities
Teach in the College's First Year Program
Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in Sports Management/Administration or doctorate or terminal degree in a related field. ABD considered.
Potential for excellence in teaching at the college level
Evidence of research activity and scholarship
Commitment and sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility

Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. Wagner College considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
