POSITION TITLE: Head Boys Soccer Coach

STIPEND: Stipend $5,718.00 - $7,987.00

Based upon the 2023/24 Athletics Pay Schedule and dependent upon experience

(2024/2025 pay schedule to be determined)

LOCATION: Arlington High School

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

JOB SUMMARY: The head coach will oversee the growth and development of student athletes by focusing on fundamental skill instruction with an emphasis on whole child development to include expectations for academic and athletic excellence, leadership skills, and positive social relationships. It is the responsibility of the head coach to guide, inspire, and empower athletes to achieve their full potential.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 21 years of age per WIAA regulations.

• Successful coaching experience in appropriate sport.

• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate or willingness to obtain one prior to first day of practice.

• Willingness to attend sports clinics.

• Complete WIAA concussion and sudden cardiac clinic(s).

• Complete WIAA general and sport specific rules test(s).

• Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance.

• Type II Driver's License or willingness and ability to obtain.

• Prior to the beginning the third year of coaching, the coach is required to:

(1) complete the NFHS Coaching Fundamentals Course or

(2) participate in at least 30 hours of activities, courses or programs that provide some level of professional development.

• High school coaches are required to maintain a minimum of 15 hours of professional development activities each three-year period following the initial 2-year cycle. Those holding a physical education endorsement on a teaching certificate are exempt from the initial 30-hour requirement.

• Will your present job permit you to be at practice by 2:30 p.m. daily during the season?

• If you are a current District employee, do you authorize the hiring committee to review your personnel file?

• Have you ever been dismissed or discharged from a job, or have you separated employment in order to avoid discipline or discharge? If yes, please explain.

• Have you ever been released from prison or been convicted of any crime? If yes, please explain the nature of the crime, the place, and date. A conviction will not necessarily bar you from employment.

• Are you presently charged with, but not convicted of, a crime? (Exclude civil infractions such as minor traffic citations). If yes, please explain the nature of the crime, place, date, and court. A pending criminal charge will not necessarily bar you from District employment.
