Job duties:
The SNAP Employment & Training Coordinator I provides job search, job placement, and training assistance to SNAP recipients and maximizes their access to workforce and/or community resources in order to increase the number of SNAP recipients who are successful in obtaining employment and self-sufficiently.
Assists in tracking and monitoring referrals of SNAP recipients to the Employment and Training (E&T) Program to ensure compliance; assists in the assessment, employability plan development and component placement activities; coordinates with staff to provide maximum access to available employment resources for SNAP recipients.
Monitors the E&T Database to ensure timely and accurate data entry of client participation hours and placements, reports findings to Economic Services Program Coordinator or Supervisor.
Provides technical assistance to county staff on E&T related policies and procedures; develops E&T opportunities for SNAP clients including Work Experience placements.
Analyzes local labor market data and employment trends, assists in the development of strategies designed to increase the number of SNAP recipients who are successful in obtaining unsubsidized employment
Will be required to perform Red Cross shelter/emergency response duties as directed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Agency Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of professional experience in social service programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management or relevant program experience.
A Master's Degree and one (1) year of professional experience in social service programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience.
