Job duties:

• The SNAP Employment & Training Coordinator I provides job search, job placement, and training assistance to SNAP recipients and maximizes their access to workforce and/or community resources in order to increase the number of SNAP recipients who are successful in obtaining employment and self-sufficiently.

• Assists in tracking and monitoring referrals of SNAP recipients to the Employment and Training (E&T) Program to ensure compliance; assists in the assessment, employability plan development and component placement activities; coordinates with staff to provide maximum access to available employment resources for SNAP recipients.

• Monitors the E&T Database to ensure timely and accurate data entry of client participation hours and placements, reports findings to Economic Services Program Coordinator or Supervisor.

• Provides technical assistance to county staff on E&T related policies and procedures; develops E&T opportunities for SNAP clients including Work Experience placements.

• Analyzes local labor market data and employment trends, assists in the development of strategies designed to increase the number of SNAP recipients who are successful in obtaining unsubsidized employment

• Will be required to perform Red Cross shelter/emergency response duties as directed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Agency Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of professional experience in social service programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management or relevant program experience.

A Master's Degree and one (1) year of professional experience in social service programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience.
