Providing to customers a level of flexibility and differentiation that goes beyond standard AMD products, the business unit takes AMD to a new level of customer-centric design by integrating these building blocks with customer-specific IP to create tailor-made solutions using a flexible System-on-a-Chip (SoC) design methodology.

The business unit features a strong team of engineers who have design wins in all major gaming console. They are exceptional and experts in graphics and compute processing. The PlayStation 4 (PS4) from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), the Xbox One from Microsoft are some examples of AMD's Semi-Custom solutions.

The Semi-Custom Business Unit (SCBU) has a career making opportunity for a Senior Member of Technical Staff.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in EE/CS with 10+ years of hardware verification and management experience.

  • Experience in performance/functional SoC verification of complex SoC designs

  • Experience using hardware performance models to analyze bottlenecks and to find optimizations in computer architecture features.

  • Knowledge of SOC and system architecture and familiar with RTL designs/Coding styles

  • Experience working in hardware and software realms.

  • Working knowledge of languages such as C/C++/Verilog/SV/UVM/Python/Perl etc.

  • Familiarity with design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.

Additional Recommended Skills

  • Superior communication skills.

  • Be able to work with functional teams across various geographies.

  • Capable of managing small technical teams.

  • Highly organized, able to prioritize and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines.

As a member of the Semi-Custom Business Unit within AMD, your execution will help bring to life customers' special requirements for designs to be used in a broad range of products, from tablets to gaming consoles to servers and more. As a member of this team, you will work closely with the architecture, verification, and physical design teams to achieve first pass silicon success. Job Responsibilities: * Design with 3rd party IP cores, including ARM, Cadence DSPs, etc. * Microarchitecture definition and RTL coding for various functional blocks working as part of an IP development team * Ability to contribute to specification, design, verification and implementation of digital designs * Contribute to power reduction, timing convergence, synthesis, floorplan & design verification.
