This position is primarily responsible for assisting SMT Technicians by ensuring correct components are picked, and machines are set-up and ready for each job. Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as they related to production and the company's objective is required. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.
Precisely load and unload feeder, visually inspect and make minor repairs on PCB's exiting machines. Place SMT parts by hand that are not placed by SMT machine. Load and unload reflow or UV ovens. Retrieve boards exiting washer and place in ESD bags, bins or racks. Operate xray machine.
Interpret and convert SMT set-up sheets to Bill of Materials for proto-type builds.
Complete and maintain relevant paperwork and input information into the computer system. Stock all parts.
Assist with assembly of moderately complex circuit boards and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering as time permits.
Ability to solder to IPC standards.
Ability to read and understand drawings and work instructions.
Ability to understand standard units of measure.
Ability to perform standard software operations including SAP. Strong SAP skills required.
Ability to sometimes lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 pounds without assistance.
Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to regularly perform fine finger and hand activity / steady hand required.
Ability to stand and bend for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporaries.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to prioritize and organize work.
