Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program is looking for you to join our team as a High-altitude Electro-Magnetic Pulse (HEMP) Principal Systems Engineer (SE).based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses
Ensure solutions meet customer requirements as well as technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Conduct nuclear hardness & survivability analyses, tests, and design, with an emphasis on electrical/magnetic analysis of hardness problems
Monitor weapon system Hardness Maintenance and Hardness Surveillance (HM/HS) tasks performed by subcontractors on the weapon system
Assist in the development of technical procedures and manuals
5 Years with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited college
Active SECRET security clearance or higher
5 Years with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. within Electrical Engineering from an accredited college
Experience working with ground based radar systems, preferably Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) PAVE Phased Array Warning System (PAVE PAWS) and/or Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS)
Thorough understanding of HEMP, RF propagation, RF coupling, electrical power systems and HEMP protection and counter measures
Demonstrated experience performing EM (electromagnetic) effects testing, planning, and report generation
Familiarity with MIL-STD 188-125, MIL-STD 464, MIL-STD 461 and MIL-HDBK-423
Experience conducting EMP testing per MIL-STD-188-125
Previous experience supporting a government and/or DoD customer
