Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program is looking for you to join our team as a High-altitude Electro-Magnetic Pulse (HEMP) Principal Hardware Engineer based out of Colorado Springs, CO
What You'll get to Do:
Conduct research, design, development, and testing of High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse protection hardware such as shielded cabinets, bladder and finger stock doors, waveguides, power and signal filters and electrical components.
Design new or modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications.
Prepare technical procedures and specification data.
Review technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Review current and develop new Technical Orders and Manuals.
5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters, 0 Years with PhD; or 9 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Current Interim SECRET Security Clearance or higher.
Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Knowledge of HEMP and/or TEMPEST protection measures, Radio Frequency (RF) propagation and coupling
Experience utilizing MS Office Suite tools (i.e. Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and Word)
5 Years with Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering; 3 Years with Masters in Mechanical Engineering, 0 Years with PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience working with ground based radar systems, preferably Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) PAVE Phased Array Warning System (PAVE PAWS) and/or Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS)
Thorough understanding of HEMP, RF propagation, RF coupling, electrical power systems, grounding and HEMP protection and counter measures.
Expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks with experience developing electrical power diagrams and 3D drawings.
Experience with electro-mechanical design.
