Ocean Beauty Seafoods is seeking a Smoke Master Trainee at their Monroe, WA location. Ocean Beauty Seafoods is an established company that has been a seafood fixture for over 100 years!

As a Smoke Master Trainee you will work with the Smoke Master Supervisor to monitor, record, and communicate throughout the smoking process. You will assist the Smoke Master Supervisor with all steps in the smoking process. You will acquire the knowledge of how to prepare fish for smoking, including: using brining, washing, rinsing, drying, and the proper salt level for smoking. You will understand how smoked fish should appear, taste, and the moisture content needed.

This Position Requires:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle interruptions, and manage change productively

  • Detail oriented with the ability to learn

  • Able to work at a consistent steady pace while keeping up with the flow and demand of production

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience.

VIEW JOBS 1/3/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-03T00:00 Job Description Under the direction of the Supervisor/Lead Hand, the Tablet Press Operator is responsible for all activities related to the direct compress of tablets as per MIL document by adhering to the work procedures (WPs), the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect to ensure the quality and quantity of product. The responsibilities are carried out while taking into consideration the company's commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility. * Competently operate press machine individually as well as within a team environment * Read and follow the work order requirement prior to production * Clean and setup press machine, accessories and rooms within the standard time frame per SOP requirement * Ensure proper machine startup check and complete the paperwork against Master Ingredient List before starting production * Monitor the press machine operation and perform in-process tablet weight, hardness and friability check, making adjustments as necessary * Match all labels with the work order * Perform troubleshooting during production * Report non-compliance event to Lead Hand or Supervisor in timely manner * Attain composite samples for Quality Control testing * Attain Acceptable Quality Levels samples for Quality Assurance if needed * Label containers of finished product * Perform general maintenance of machinery * Take good care of machine parts and tooling * Accurately complete all paperwork * Perform proper line clearance between products * Ensure proper shift turnover * Ensure good housekeeping around working area * Cover coworker's break on other machine if requested/required * Work in other departments or perform other duties as required * Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) * Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions Requirements * Demonstrate ability to speak and read English fluently * Mechanically inclined for machinery maintenance * Physically able to lift approximately 25-50 lbs about 48 times during an 8 hour shift, and able to stand for extended periods of time * Willing and able to follow direction and company policy * Team player * Demonstrate values for productivity and quality * Safety conscious * Attention to detail and accuracy with numbers * Knowledge of Tableting and GMP an asset Company Overview Natural Factors Nutritional Products Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of nutritional supplements and other health-building products.
