Smeal Alumni Career Services Virtual Internship
Smeal Alumni Career Services, within the division of Development and Alumni Relations at Penn State, offers job search resources, career coaching, lifelong learning programs, and networking opportunities for alumni of the Smeal College of Business. Department programs and resources that fall within the auspices of the internship are: lifelong learning webinars and podcast, social media programs and marketing, Smeal career fairs, and the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society awards banquet.
Learn about Smeal Alumni Career Services objectives and initiatives and organize business research to help engage Smeal alumni on social media and determine topics for future lifelong learning webinars and podcast episodes, help drive social media engagement on LinkedIn, prepare marketing materials and social media prompts for virtual programing, help to strategize new ways to market events to alumni and industry, assist with practice and live webinars, create webinar surveys on Qualtrics and prepare reports for internal tracking and feedback for the presenter, manage databases on Google Drive and Microsoft 365 Teams. Help with additional projects as assigned.
Being responsible and committed to the role, strong verbal and written communication skills, have a LinkedIn profile and be comfortable sharing on social media, organized and able to meet deadlines, must be able to work independently, professional attire is required when attending career fairs- dress for office is business casual, proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive. All Smeal majors are welcome to apply.
Time availability: Students must be available for the Fall 2020 semester, less official campus closures and holiday breaks.
This is a 15-hour per week virtual position to be conducted and administered via phone, email, Zoom video, and Microsoft 365 Teams project management tools. Wednesday afternoons from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. is a must for webinars.
Employment is conditional upon passing a university background check.
