Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
1.Performs expert-level systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.
2.Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
3.Acts as a subject-matter expert to multiple tasks and/or programs.
4.Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.
5.Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements. 6. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.
7.Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
8.Serves as a technical team or task lead.
9.Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibility.
10. Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
11. May provide expertise to multiple projects and tasks.
12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
13. Participates in special projects as required.

Education:
1.Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
2.Masters degree preferred.

Qualifications:

15-20 years of related systems engineering experience.

The ClearPath OS 2200 Products provide a robust, high-performance, secure environment needed for the Unisys ClearPath OS 2200 Enterprise class server family. Our Associate Engineers work on the ClearPath OS 2200 Products within a high-performing, development team. They will work closely with an assigned Senior Engineer within a component team as a mentor. Unisys is seeking an Associate Engineer to be a ClearPath OS 2200 Mainframe System Administrator responsible for maintaining ClearPath OS 2200 systems software within our Testing Data Center. They will be accountable for installation, customization, and testing of ClearPath OS 2200 systems software. Responsibilities: Feature development and support for our products encompass the following components: * Perform the systems software installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of the mainframe operating environment. * Planning, configuration, and testing of new installations and regular maintenance * Problem determination - Operational support * Day to day administrative support of the environment * Provide problem analysis, troubleshooting and error resolution for reported issues * Aid and support the development and support teams in setting up and maintaining their software environments * Conduct the most complex and vital work critical to the organization * Ability to Work with minimal supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Unisys is enhancing the ClearPath OS 2200 Systems with underlying technology providing increased capability in the areas listed above. Based on the assigned component and feature, each Associate Engineer will perform a subset of the following tasks for ClearPath OS 2200 features: * Perform some programming and may be responsible for script writing * Hardware installation and configuration * Automate and perform Firmware level testing Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Education: * Currently enrolled or recently graduated with an Associates' or Bachelors' Degree or a Certificate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science or a similar discipline Technical Skills: * Basic C/C++ programming skills Knowledge in These Areas is a Plus: * Operating systems concepts * Software test theory Functional Skills: * Individuals who have a passion for technology and are driven by results * Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies * Strong team players with demonstrated strength in problem-solving with minimal supervision required * Self-starters able to learn and apply core skills in proprietary, Windows, or Open development environments * Good written and verbal communicators Do you have what it takes to be mission-critical?
