Job Summary

Functions as an engineering system design technologist or in a lead engineering system design technology capacity. With minimal supervision, has responsibility for execution of projects administering and configuring commercial plant design tools in a plant design system or AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations) software in support of the client project. May supervise design technology staff on projects of low to medium complexity. Performs system configuration assignments by applying engineering principles and established design practices in support of complex engineering design system concepts. Provides technical system guidance and direction to other Design Technologist professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Performing activities to setup, administer, and increase user productivity around the use of the SmartPlant Suite of engineering design tools.

Primary duties include:

  • Define hardware and software architecture necessary for SmartPlant

  • Installation of server and client side of software

  • Configuration and customization of SmartPlant tools to meet both internal and client requirements

  • end-user support of project professionals

  • interface optimization

  • research, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of new techniques and processes

  • documentation of standards and procedures

  • creation and delivery of training aids, such as training courses, brown-bag sessions, and training videos

  • evaluation and testing of new software

  • assist in planning and implementation of upgrades and new software

Must possess:

  • good interaction, communication and organizational skills
  • the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • the ability to analyze and solve problems.

Must be self-motivated and able to function in a fast paced environment.

Management Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strongly prefer a minimum of 5 years working with and/or administering SmartPlant Tools as well as knowledge of both the hardware and software architecture necessary to fully implement the SmartPlant Suite of tools.

  • Knowledge of AutoDesk and/or Bentley tools and their interfaces with SmartPlant is desired.

  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows environment, including desktop, servers, and networking.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

Travel not required but is possible based on project requirements.

Responsibilities: * Plan, communicate, configure and maintain SPM SPRD module for use across WorleyParsons worldwide * Interface with Engineering systems personnel to develop the standard SPM SPRD set-up for all locations of WorleyParsons * Set-up the standards for generating pipe specifications using the SPM SPRD module * Develop and maintain the materials coding structure for SPM * Develop standard interfaces between design systems (SP3D, PDS, PDMS, AutoPLANT, CADWorx) and SPM * Develop and maintain any interface applications between external applications and SPM * Manage system upgrades and the interfaces with the ICT group * Develop and maintain all of the associated user guides and aides for SPM SPRD users * Produce implementation and rollout plans * Develop and maintain a suit of training courses which will include one on one, class simulation, group instructional, group facilitation and computer based training * Build a network and community of users and regularly communicate the plans, and status of rollout * Ensure that system users have access to a support network through the establishment of discussion groups and other aides * Provide system updates, events, announcements, tips and tricks and training programs in a manner that is accessible to all users * Develop and maintain "Power User" groups and train them up to "Train the Trainer" level so that they may assist with end user training at their location / project * Facilitate and support the trouble shooting of system errors and problems through effective communication. What you will bring Required Technical and Industry Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of work experience with SPM Modules * Proficient with all SPMat modules E&PI, MSCM and Site with some knowledge of SPRD * Experience supporting SPMat users on a daily basis * Experience training new users * Experience with User Acceptance Testing on Upgrades * Experience supporting systems implementation in a global environment with a focus on SmartPlant Materials * Previous super user experience with SPM acting as a trouble-shooter for users * Understanding of Software Systems Architecture both infrastructure and business logic WorleyParsons will offer you a competitive compensation and benefits package, plus a friendly, professional and dynamic working environment with the opportunity to develop your career prospects within the United States and on a global scale.
