Job Requirements

SERVICE TECHNICIAN * LAWN EQUIPMENT REPAIR * SMALL ENGINE REPAIR

As a Small Engine Service Technicians have opportunities to repair Lawn and Garden Equipment, Riding Mowers, Push Mowers, Tractors, Tractor Attachments, Tillers, Snow Throwers, Log Splitters, Chippers, Shredders, VACs, Grills, Power Tools, Garage Door Openers, Recreation Equipment and a variety of home appliances in the customers' homes.

Repair responsibilities include:

  • Providing timely and quality repairs of customers' products
  • Maintaining high-quality customer service and care
  • Promoting and selling additional products and services
  • Meeting key performance metrics and/or productivity goals
  • Providing knowledgeable and courteous repair service
  • Looking for ways to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience
  • Communicating benefits of the Value Added Services Process to the customer
  • Maintaining truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards
  • Following the truck maintenance schedule and keeping a clean, organized truck

Requirements of the Service Technician role include:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least 1 – 2 years of small engine repair technician experience, preferred
  • Ability to use a computer for parts inquiries and ordering
  • Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools and test equipment
  • Ability to perform accurate repair of customer product
  • Ability to follow directions and specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship
  • Flexibility to work variable and flexible hours, including overtime
  • Must complete all technician training elements within required timeframes
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license for the state in which you are applying
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.

The salary range for each level is: Maintenance Technician I - $2,732.00 to $3,280.00 per month Maintenance Technician II - $3,246.00 to $3,897.00 per month Senior Maintenance Technician - $3,857.00 to $4,630.00 per month Below is a list of essential functions for all three job levels. The degree of responsibility will vary based on the job level. The purpose of these positions is to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair duties in support the Quality of Life Team in Neighborhood Services. Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform: * Remove and properly dispose of litter, debris, rubbish, overgrown vegetation, graffiti, unpermitted signs, and other blighting influences throughout the City, including vacant lots, creek beds and banks, and other areas * Mow yards, pick up trash, and clean vacated homeless encampments * Secure vacant structures safely using hand and power tools and other equipment/supplies * Gather and enter evidence and data using a digital camera, computer, and software * Ensure compliance with City standards and specifications We are looking for candidates who demonstrate: * Knowledge of methods and techniques used in maintenance and repair * Knowledge of occupational hazards and standards safety practices * Ability to use cameras, laptops, and other technology * Ability to safely use assigned equipment, tools, and vehicles * Ability to read maps and receipts Successful Maintenance Technician I candidate will have: * Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance * Possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges Successful Maintenance Technician II candidate will have: * Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance * Three years of full-time building and/or grounds maintenance experience * Possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges Successful Senior Maintenance Technician candidate will have: * High school diploma or GED supplemented by heavy equipment training * Five years of full-time building and/or grounds maintenance experience * Possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges Ideal candidates will also have: * Graffiti removal experience * Building maintenance experience Additional Information You may be required to remain on-call for emergency or disaster situations.
