You Have:

  • At least one year years of experience repairing and maintaining small engines, large lawn equipment, generators, commercial pressure washing units, mowers, tillers, and other related equipment with a track record of success.

  • The skills to clearly explain and communicate to the customer's satisfaction the diagnosis and repair of the machine in a professional manner to provide a positive experience.

  • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness, while providing a valued quality solution to the customer.

  • The ability to recognize and observe all safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.

  • The desire to treat others with respect and contribute to building a positive team spirit.

  • The ability to understand and follow instructions and promptly respond to direction.

  • The drive to work with integrity, always upholding company values, while operating a profitable service business.

You Might Also Have:

  • Knowledge of small engine theory (2 and 4 stroke): lubrication, cooling, ignition and fuel systems.

  • Certifications in major manufacture brands like Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, Generac, MTD, etc. Master certification is a plus!

  • Extensive experience with electrical systems, plunger driven or axial pressure washer pumps and unloader systems, hydraulic theory, and associated diagnostic equipment and procedures.

  • Proven track record of business development Business to Business, Business to Consumer.

  • Strong organizational and computer skills (fluent in Microsoft Office products).

While themajority of work is directly in support of LaRC, other industry partners andGovernment agencies may be supported at remote sites as directed by theContracting Officer (CO). The Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering(CMOE) contract comprises of three major categories of work – operations,maintenance, and engineering (OME). A brief description of each category is:Maintenance – Research and institutional facility maintenance includes, but notlimited to, preventive maintenance, trouble calls, repairs, ReliabilityCentered Maintenance (RCM), Facility Condition Assessment (FCA), andmaintenance/operation of central utilities (e.g., electrical powerdistribution, potable water, storm water drainage) •Operations – FacilitiesOperations support includes, but not limited to, wind tunnels, laboratories,and test stands testing, instrumentation calibration/repair; plant andutilities (e.g., high pressure air, Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) and Steam Plant);technology development and administration, including, but not limited to,Facility Automation Systems (FAS) and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS)•Engineering – Facility engineering includes, but not limited to, engineeringstudies, design, construction, construction management, configurationmanagement, tactical engineering, pressure system recertification, projectmanagement/planning support. Responsibilities: Acts as second person for safety and responds to associate safety incidents.Ensures the building exits are free from obstruction and notifies managementconcerning need for repairs to lighting. Perform cleaning, painting, andpreservation. Assists with operations and maintenance of boilers, compressorsand other equipment as directed. May align and secure systems and equipmentunder the direction of qualified personnel. Must qualify to safely performminimum securing of equipment in the event the Operator is injured orincapacitated. Essential Functions Work Environment Industrial Environment- May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, highenergy systems, operating equipment, operating boilers, fuel oil, andchemicals. (90%) May travel between various facilities, may assist facilitymaintenance staff, IOC Operators and Steam Plant Operators, confined spaces andpotentially hazardous equipment operation. (40%) Physical Requirements Requires climbing, crawling, bending, and body mobility. (30%) Ability todistinguish basic colors, (10%) Vision corrected (100%) Lifting, carrying,exerting pressure-up to 45 lbs.
