Small Engine Mechanic

Bemana is looking for a Small Engine Mechanic in Colfax, IA to join the team of one of the nation’s largest John Deere dealer networks. As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will perform diagnosis, repair, and scheduled maintenance of consumer products such as lawnmowers, snowblowers, John Deere Gators and other equipment.

*This is not a temp or temp-to-hire role – if hired, you will be employed directly by our client.*

Position Offers

• Top Pay: salary + incentive pay with total earning potential ranging from $45,000 to over $65,000

Small Engine Mechanic Responsibilities

• Diagnose small engine consumer equipment utilizing diagnostic software and/or online technical manuals

• Perform component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning as part of the repair process of small engine consumer equipment. Resolve electrical and mechanical issues

• Safely operate all equipment the dealership sells and services

• Help the dealership by participating in special programs, such as sales of service packages.

• Communicate repairs with customers so they have an understanding of the work being done

Small Engine Mechanic Qualifications

• Prior experience as a mechanic in a related field

• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes

• Proficient oral and written communication skills
