The Division of Education at Columbia College (SC) invites applications for an open rank, full- time position in Speech-Language Pathology beginning August 2024 with a strong teaching focus in anatomy and physiology, neuroscience, and acquired disorders of communication and swallowing.

The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality, student-centered learning experiences. The Speech-Language Pathology program at Columbia College has a focus on hands-on learning and clinical education and is an undergraduate (BA) SLP-Assistant training program. The program is offered in on-campus and online delivery, with approximately 20-25 students per cohort and has a high rate of post-graduation SLP-A employment and/or graduate program admission (approx. 92%, average past 3 years). Students participate in research, leadership, and service initiatives within the program and across campus. Our program is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC).

This position is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track or lecturer appointment. The standard teaching load is twelve credit hours for each of the fall and spring semesters.

The candidate must demonstrate ability to design and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including online and hybrid modalities, and is expected to teach core courses and specialized courses in anatomy and physiology, neuroscience, and acquired disorders of communication and swallowing in addition to clinical supervision of undergraduate students in the school, outpatient clinic and/or early intervention settings. The candidate is expected to have flexibility in class scheduling to meet the college's needs. Faculty members are expected to participate in faculty governance, academic program activities, and service, scholarship and professional development.

Qualifications

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders for a tenure- track position. Strong applicants with a clinical doctorate or master's degree will also be considered.

Applicants must also have a current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech- Language Pathology and be eligible for state licensure in South Carolina.
