PRN Polysomnographic Tech

As a Sleep Lab Technologist, at Grandview Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best - providing quality care to our patients.

Requirements:

  • Non - Registered Tech: Successful completion of a formal polysomnography program OR a minimum of 6 months of experience with documented proficiency.

  • Registered Tech: Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (R-PSGT) or equivalent; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Registered Encephalographic Technologist (R-EEGT).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent and certification as a polysomnographic technician.

About the Job:

  • Under the direct supervision of a physician, performs polysomnograms, CPAP titrations, and is responsible for scoring of sleep studies in accordance with State Regulations and departmental policies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders.

  • Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis.

  • Applies recording sensors, acclimatizes patient to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) if applicable, and performs pre-recording calibration.

  • Monitors the recording during the evening per protocol including documentation and interventions as needed.

  • Ends the recording per protocol, completes appropriate post-study documentation, removal of sensors and cleanup as needed.
