Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Student Services including admission, placement testing, financial aid, registration, residency, graduation, advising, concurrent/early enrollment, on-line services, student involvement opportunities and other student support services. Utilize college computer system (Banner), MySlCC, the Internet and other windows-based programs to assist students.

Assist students with all aspects of enrollment at the College including admission, residency, course selection, registration, financial aid and advising. Respond courteously and promptly to telephone inquiries. Assist in processing (data entry) of applications for admission and updates to student records.

Process transcript requests and enrollment verifications for students and agencies. Serve as referral to students when services are not offered at current location. Participate in staff meetings to stay current on college information. Assist and collaborate with the Dream Center in programming events at West Valley Center.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications

Computer experience (windows-based programs and Internet navigation).

Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing and speaking)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a student and/or employee at SLCC. One year full-time work experience in a related field (part-time experience equivalent to one year full-time is acceptable).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work effectively in a busy, changing environment.

Ability to communicate College policies and procedures effectively and diplomatically.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.

Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.

Salt Lake Community College may complete a criminal background check on the finalist.

Location: West Valley Center (opening in September 2023)

Hours: Evenings Monday - Friday

Resume and cover letter required.

Spanish fluency required (reading, speaking, writing)

Work-study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work-Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work-study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work-study positions.
