SLA Contract Negotiator IV

Responsible for working with Black Knight sales teams and lines of business to negotiate contracts and process agreements in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with company policies. Provides timely, updated information in an effort to facilitate continued process improvement. May create systems and procedures to ensure overall quality of services. Facilitate development of relationships with customers, maintain relationships for long-term contracts, and mediate performance and scorecard disputes.


  • Creates, negotiates and administers contractual documents that establish operational business relationships across Black Knight lines of business.

  • Reviews contractual documents to ensure adherence to company practice and conformance to master agreements.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding contractual obligations and revisions.

  • Direct customer negotiation on significant revenue generating opportunities for BKI products and services.

  • Creates and distributes customer facing service level agreement (SLA) reporting to ensure adherence to operational contractual commitments.

  • Coordinates remediation credits for any contractual SLA missed during a reporting cycle.

  • Conducts pre-contract data collection (e.g. Request for Proposal) and administration of contracts.

  • Works with sales, service organizations and business operations team to structure new contracts as well as adherence to terms in existing agreements.

  • Thoroughly reviews agreements to ensure contractual obligation are met and all required exhibits, attachments, etc. are attached.

  • Exercises good judgment in the course of processing agreements, understanding and executing escalation procedures wisely.

  • Develops a detailed understanding of the sales pipeline or organization workflow and client database systems.

  • Manages agreement workload and actively follows up on outstanding items required to process agreements.

  • Provides support to resources pertaining to sales pipeline or operational area and contract processing methodologies.

  • Coordinates performance testing and capacity analysis.

  • Creates spreadsheets for financial calculations relating to contract valuation.

  • Completes a sufficient quantity of agreements within timeframes as specified by manager to meet monthly deadlines.

  • Maintains tracking of agreements with detailed notes and functionality within the sales or operational pipeline system.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.


  • Strong understanding of Black Knight business strategy and how products or initiatives contribute to Black Knight goals preferred

  • Knowledge of Black Knight products and services and how they interact with each other preferred

  • Ability to translate technical language into client facing contractual terms and conditions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various s levels in the organization (e.g. executive, management, individual contributors)

  • Excellent problem solving, team and time management skills managing multiple deadlines for self and others

  • Knowledge of contract processing methodology

  • A basic knowledge of pricing strategies with an emphasis on value based concepts

  • High attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality required

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools

  • Ability to understand and apply learned concepts

  • Ability to utilize judgment in decision making process and decisions related to job tasks

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Good understanding of financial concepts, tools and systems required for processing agreements

Contract Negotiator IV

Expert/lead technical role. Has expert knowledge of supply chain or contract review principles. Develops large and/or highly complex solutions to establish and maintain customer relationships. Facilitate the contract negotiation process by working with customers to define and document contractual requirements to meet the needs of the business. Revises and publishes the business's standard contracts when required. Coaches and mentors more junior staff. Provides feedback to more junior staff on contract drafting, review and negotiation. Works without supervision on the most complex projects or contract of the highest dollar amount. Complete latitude for independent judgment. Assigned to the most highly visible, sensitive and critical issues. Typically requires ten (10) or more years of experience in contract administration or related experience.
