The primary role of the Skip Tracer is to successfully skip trace, coordinate repossession on hard to find auto loans that are assigned for repossession. A successful candidate will have an advanced comprehension of skip tracing and communication skills. The primary objective of the position is to mitigate losses for the company.

This is a full-time position that will require 40+ hours a week, Monday to Friday

Your responsibilities would be, but are not limited to:

Use company approved internet databases and phone tools to skip trace and locate customers/collateral and/or other parties to:

  • Identify the best-known address to locate the clients collateral or customer
  • Determine if customer holds special status such as Bankruptcy, Active Duty Military, and others
  • Generate successful leads and contacts for Recovery Agents
  • Communicate frequently with Recovery Agents via phone, email and recovery systems
  • Confirm FHFs Lien holder status of pursued collateral
  • Review and analyze credit applications and in-house documents to help determine location
  • Ensure all information/leads provided are being acknowledged and followed up on
  • Assign or Reassign repossession orders after validating correct address/place of employment or other helpful leads
  • Use independent judgment and discretion to ensure compliance with all state and federal codes, regulations, and laws that pertain to the position.
  • Report on independently identified trends in recovery data to contribute to FHFs proprietary underwriting model
  • Comply FHF compliance requests and requirements
  • Some Administrative tasks will be required
  • Additional duties as assigned by management


  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
  • Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred!

Develops effective improvement plans with leadership involvement. * Provides updates on progress for organizational improvements, aligns resources and communicates this information to the appropriate personnel. * Infrastructure development including policies, procedures and operational standardization. * Develops and manages an effective organization wide assessment comparing regulations to practice.
