JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Cellar Master, this position will perform routine cellar duties.

These duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Follow and observe all safe cellar practices

  • Sanitation in all areas (facility and equipment)

  • Equipment set-up

  • Balance work orders

  • Wine transfer, racking and blending

  • Understanding of barrel operations, racking, filling and topping

  • Filter operation, pressure leaf, lees, pad, membrane, x-flow, and sterile filtration

  • Chemical additions to wine and juice

  • Team leader, ability to direct team members to achieve established production standards

  • Basic computer skills in Word and Excel

  • Forklift operation, barrels and case goods

  • Other duties assigned by Foreperson or Cellar Master

QUALIFICATIONS

Individuals selected for these positions must be reliable, possess a good work ethic and have the desire to develop skills to advance in the company. In addition, these personnel must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis, work standing up and walk on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time. Must be able to work any shift and overtime as needed particularly during harvest season.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 3-5 years previous winery experience. A complete knowledge and skill level to operate all winery equipment. 2 years' experience in supervising or leading a crew to accomplish multiple tasks.

VIEW JOBS 7/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-10-27T00:00 Skilled Winery Worker Bottling Shift: Nights (M-Th, 4d x 10hrs) POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Bottling Manager/Supervisor/Foreman, this position will perform routine bottling line duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES (not limited to): * Follow and observe all safe bottling regulations. * Rotate from multiple work stations during shift. * Inspect, identify and remove defective packaging materials from production run. * Deep clean bottling equipment and perform sanitation duties. * Perform equipment package changeovers. * Understand and follow all bottling sterility procedures on line. * Forklift and Clamp operation with full product, empty glass and packaging material. * Other duties assigned by Supervisor or Lead Person. * Assist with off line work and special projects when required. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. * Ability to stand for long periods of time. * Ability to work longer than ten hours per day. * May require split shift, overtime and weekend work. * Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or regularly. * Ability to learn how to set-up and operate all high-speed bottling equipment. Essential Skills, Experience, and Education: * English communication skills, written and verbal. * Basic mathematical aptitude. * Two years bottling line experience preferred. * Forklift experience on operating electric or gas-powered forklift preferred. * Must possess analytical skills to evaluate raw material defects versus equipment malfunctions. * Must possess a working knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Excel and MS Word. * Must be reliable, detail oriented with good organizational skills. * Must be willing to learn computer skills and inventory control. * Sterilization and cellar experience preferred but not required.
