Summary of Job Duties:
The Skilled Trades Foreman is responsible for supervising journeyman level skilled tradesmen in the completion of work orders received in one or more of the skilled craft shops. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. On-Call after hours during emergencies and inclement weather.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of required education or training along with the required license or certification in the following skilled trades: Journeyman Electrician according to ACA 17-28-304, Journeyman Plumber according to ACA 17-38-301, and HVAC Mechanics according to ACA 17-33-301;
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
At least seven years of experience in skilled trades
At least two years in a leadership capacity
Valid Driver's License
Basic understanding and experience with Microsoft Office products and mobile technology
Basic understanding and experience with CMMS systems and Work Order Management
Preferred Qualifications:
At least eight years experience in skilled trades
At least two years supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades
Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and codes relating to one or more of the skilled trades
Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings
Ability to supervise skilled trades workers and/or supervisors.
Ability to plan and coordinate all phases of work projects in one or more of the skilled trades
Skill in the use and care of tools and machinery used in one or more of the skilled trades
