Job Summary

Performs specialized maintenance and repair such as welding, glazing, plus routine building maintenance and servicing. Assists Maintenance Specialists in the performance of skilled work projects in the various construction and mechanical systems trades, such as, but not limited to, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, irrigation systems, painting, and plumbing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Requires graduation from high school or equivalent, and 3 years of experience in general maintenance and remodel, which includes one year experience in skilled sub-specialty matching the District's needs. Licenses and Certificates Requires a valid California driver's license. Requires valid EPA Lead-Safe Certification; employees must fulfill certification requirement prior to completion of the six-month probationary period.

PURPOSE To establish a list of eligible candidates that will be used to fill future vacancies (full and part-time, permanent and substitute) for the duration of the list, up to a year. The upcoming need is to fill an anticipated vacancy in the area of Welding and Fabrication.

The position will be responsible for structural and nonstructural shapes and plates. It is 8 hrs/day, 12-months per year in the Maintenance & Operations Department, in Simi Valley, California. APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Completed applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 6, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted. TESTING PROCESS: A) Multiple Choice Test = 40% weighting on final score Tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, 2024 B) Structured Interview = 60% weighting on final score Tentatively scheduled for the week of May 20, 2024
