SUMMARY: Provide students and staff a safe and properly maintained environment in which to learn and develop

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains, cleans and adjusts electrical systems including but not limited to: lighting, motors, breakers, service entrance and related fixtures, equipment, and systems

• Performs preventative maintenance as directed and keeps accurate records

• Diagnosis trouble and performs assembly, disassembly and adjustments on a variety of electrical systems, repairing and replacing motors, switches, contacts, relays, solenoids, electric tools, light fixtures, ballasts, heating elements in furnaces, energy management system, and other electrical work

• Diagnosis and trouble shoots breakdowns. Disassemble, locate worn or broken parts and replace on all types of equipment

• Read schematics, layout lighting circuits, and wire up machinery

• Performs mechanical maintenance on equipment. Replace defective or worn out parts, including gears, shafts, bearings, belts, chains, etc.

• Keeps work area and equipment clean and in an orderly condition

• Makes time available when called upon in emergency situations to work other than their normal working hours if essential to do so

• Provides training to maintenance employees if needed

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors

• Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality

• Other job related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Education:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

• Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)

Experience:

• Electrical installation, maintenance, and/or repairs

• Working knowledge and experience in electricity, energy management, and general building maintenance preferred

Abilities:

• Posses and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license with a good driving record

• Relates to public, staff and students in a positive manner

• Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals

• Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others

• Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

• Interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms

• Apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance
