SUMMARY: Provide students and staff a safe and properly maintained environment in which to learn and develop
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains, cleans and adjusts electrical systems including but not limited to: lighting, motors, breakers, service entrance and related fixtures, equipment, and systems
Performs preventative maintenance as directed and keeps accurate records
Diagnosis trouble and performs assembly, disassembly and adjustments on a variety of electrical systems, repairing and replacing motors, switches, contacts, relays, solenoids, electric tools, light fixtures, ballasts, heating elements in furnaces, energy management system, and other electrical work
Diagnosis and trouble shoots breakdowns. Disassemble, locate worn or broken parts and replace on all types of equipment
Read schematics, layout lighting circuits, and wire up machinery
Performs mechanical maintenance on equipment. Replace defective or worn out parts, including gears, shafts, bearings, belts, chains, etc.
Keeps work area and equipment clean and in an orderly condition
Makes time available when called upon in emergency situations to work other than their normal working hours if essential to do so
Provides training to maintenance employees if needed
Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
Other job related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)
Experience:
Electrical installation, maintenance, and/or repairs
Working knowledge and experience in electricity, energy management, and general building maintenance preferred
Abilities:
Posses and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license with a good driving record
Relates to public, staff and students in a positive manner
Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals
Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms
Apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance
