Vail Ski & Snowboard School Supervisor (Alpine) - Full Time, Winter Seasonal, Vail,CO
Ski and Snowboard School Supervisors are responsible for the quality of the guest and employee experience in their POD/program and across the School. He/she is accountable for the guest experience at the location by helping the Product and General Manager monitor staffing, guest service, revenue and expenses, Worker's Comp, employee relations, staff morale, etc. This is accomplished by focusing on the guest, the community, the employee, the company, personal development, and job-specific responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Match guest needs to instructor qualities: privates and classes. Schedule instructors for the product.
Accommodate instructor scheduling changes that serve to increase sales and serve the guest.
Work with counterparts in other locations and departments to provide a seamless guest experience.
Utilize guest feedback and observations appropriately to coach and counsel instructors. Give timely feedback to instructors in order to raise the quality of Ski & Snowboard School products. Resolve guest complaints efficiently and effectively and support 100% guest recovery.
Role model, lead and support School, Resort and Company safety programs. Stay current on guest and employee health and safety regulations.
Manage Workers' comp and guest liability, including necessary paperwork, procedures and follow up.
Know and model the School teaching system and guest service guidelines and be prepared to lead clinics and teach the public if necessary. Actively seek information about industry trends, competitions and events and remain involved with professional organizations (PSIA/AASI)
Create a climate that is fun and rewarding to work in.
Conduct effective, upbeat and motivating meetings with staff and peers.
Stay abreast of all company and school-wide initiatives and communications from executives and directors.
Communicate with and set goals/expectations with all Family members. Conduct requisite observations, coaching/feedback sessions and complete accurate and well thought out end of season evaluations.

Lead and support School guest service initiatives and Own, Personalize and Elevate the guest and employee experience.
High School diploma.
Minimum of three years as a full-time instructor for a recognized ski and snowboard school.
Highly recommended: Instructor trainer, Supervisor Assistant or Program Coordinator in the appropriate program, or similar managerial experience.
Have a current professional instructor certification. PSIA/AASI Alpine Level 2 minimum requirement. Strongly recommended PSIA/AASI Alpine Level 3, or equivalent from another country.
Resort POS system, personal computer( MS Word, Excel, E-mail etc.) calculators, fax, copy machine, printers, base and held hand radio, phones, and voice mail.
Verbal communication in person, via telephone and e-mail with guests, instructors, management and other VA employees. Fluent in reading, writing and communicating in English.
