JOB TITLE: Sixth Grade Homeroom/Social Studies Middle School Teacher LOCATION:
Good Shepherd School, Pacifica California JOB DESCRIPTION: Good Shepherd is seeking an innovative and energetic social studies teacher to join our four-person middle school team. Candidates must possess a working knowledge of the CA History-Social Science Content Standards for grades 6-8.
Meaningful integration of technology is supported by a 1:1 ratio of devices to students along with an interactive text resource. Candidates will demonstrate willingness to contribute to a joyful, collaborative, and collegial professional learning community and must be focused on developing students into faithful and empowered individuals who are committed to serving others. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, with a Credential and Master's Degree preferred. Job Duties and Responsibilities • Teach 6th grade English-Language Arts and 6th-8th grade Social Studies in alignment with state standards and Good Shepherd School Student Learning Expectations. • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established curriculum goals, establish and communicate clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units, and projects. • Coordinate off-site learning excursions aligned to curricular goals. • Develop an interactive and collaborative learning environment for diverse learners. • Use current social studies resources in addition to innovative instructional methodologies/materials to conduct classes in a proactive, stimulating and effective manner. • Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate and improve students' academic and social growth. • Develop and adapt lesson curriculum to ensure academic development. • Maintain a neat and stimulating classroom environment. • Develop student behavioral standards to maintain a safe and disciplined environment within classrooms and school yard. • Coordinate with middle school team to continuously improve curriculum and
