Are you a subject matter expert who uses Lean and Six Sigma methodology in project management, scope definition, risk identification, and resource allocation or facilitation? Join our team of Six Sigma Consultants supporting OptumCare. OptumCare is a rapidly growing national, integrated health care organization that supports care across the continuum, putting patients at the center of healthcare transformation. We help physicians and other providers deliver the right care at the right time in the right setting and assume responsibility for health care quality and cost. We design and manage delivery systems in markets where we can achieve the Quadruple Aim - a better patient experience, higher quality care, lower costs and a better experience for providers.

In this role, you will use Lean and Six Sigma methodology, analytics, and other quality and change management techniques in order to accomplish business objectives. You will work with Six Sigma-certified professionals in planning, designing, and executing key projects. Incumbents matched to this function require accredited Six Sigma training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organizationally: Drive standard Quality disciplines rapidly into the culture of Optum by developing critical knowledge, skills and abilities in fact-based decision-making for all employees within key/core processes

  • Operationally: Support development of an inclusive strategic operating system (process management, customer experience, and management reviews) allowing Optum leaders to improve customer, process, employee and financial levers

  • Financially (Customer & Shareholders): Work with business leaders to identify and manage a strategically aligned portfolio of projects. Integrate World Class Quality principles and methods into customer focused initiatives to achieve maximum business financial benefit while positively impacting customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

  • 3 years' experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions

  • 3 years leading continuous improvement projects using DMAIC, DMADV, and Lean methodologies

  • Moderate to advance MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience deploying Lean Six Sigma in a healthcare/clinical setting

  • Previous P&L ownership or management experience

  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid processes

  • Working knowledge of CMS RAF and Stars

  • PMP Certification or PMO

  • Ability to work in Worcester, MA

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely

  • Ability to facilitate meetings, face to face or virtual, to drive action

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
