Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $125,000.00 Annually

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), named "Zweig Group's "Best Firms to Work For", is seeking an experienced Site/Civil Engineer to join our growing Water Resources team in Springfield, IL. This role involves providing civil engineering design services to a diverse range of clients throughout central Illinois. Projects will vary but will focus on civil-related work, including water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, sanitary & combined sewer collection systems, and stormwater management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with other engineers, architects, and project managers in planning, design, construction, coordination, and execution of complex projects while maintaining conformance with engineering standards, established practices, and applicable codes.
  • Master planning, terrain modeling and earthwork analysis, site utility conveyance and permitting, pavement design, hydrologic & hydraulic analysis and design, stormwater detention and water quality design, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), and buried piping design.
  • Complete preparation of construction drawings and technical specifications for Water Resources projects.
  • The ability to directly interface with clients and project stakeholders in a manner that is both professional and that furthers business development.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills related to design, report writing, field investigations, cost estimating, construction observation, and attendance at client meetings.

Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering practice
  • A Professional Engineer's License
  • Strong technical skills to include extensive experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to act as a lead engineer on projects of varying complexity
  • Ability to train and mentor junior engineers
  • Ability to accept periodic out-of-town travel assignments and work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work in the field as needed
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience in site development, drainage, IEPA permitting, and buried piping systems
  • Working knowledge of water treatment and wastewater treatment processes
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic modeling software such as XP-SWMM, Pond Pack, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS
