JOB SUMMARY/ ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The Site Supervisor plays a vital role in the plant and will work closely with the operations team to meet production goals and targets, provide industry-leading customer service, and maintain the plant equipment. This role is a hands-on working supervisor position that will be responsible for leading a small production team and supporting the ongoing production operation of a busy asphalt manufacturing facility.

  • Supervise the plant staff

  • Schedule production to meet customer demands, manage absentee coverage

  • Manage all Raw Material & Finished Goods Inventory

  • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. Sets a leading example by supporting and adhering to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times

  • Provide training, guidance, coach and develop skills of direct reports mentoring to ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities effectively

  • Provide direction to employees regarding assigned tasks and performance expectations including job hazards and safe work practices

  • Understand machine set-up, machine runs, ensure machinery runs appropriately to meet the scheduling priorities

  • Participate in the identification, recruitment, training, appraisal, and professional development of maintenance resources

  • Assist in development, planning, and execution of all plant-related maintenance activities including Preventative, Predictive, and Demand maintenance work

  • Assist with operations support, create and implement maintenance procedures that work with production planning

  • Assist team with diagnosis and repair AC/DC motors, drivers, and other systems throughout plant

  • Work with teams to lead equipment and electrical installations and electrical then test to ensure the proper functioning

  • Initiate and facilitate improvement projects processes to ensure a system is operating to its full potential

  • Ensure all QC guidelines are followed

  • Work with the Operations to investigate, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions for equipment-related failures

  • Assist with the development of processes with the objective of producing the best product in the most efficient way, and at the lowest cost, without compromising safety or quality

  • Trouble-shoot and resolve equipment-related issues that impact ongoing production

  • Lead by example to promote and encourage employees to commit to all employee safety, employee culture, and quality programs

  • Team oriented, job may include more duties than what is listed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required

  • 5 years of Production Management Experience in manufacturing facility, a minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance preferred

  • Competent with control systems, Controls Logic, and other programs that are specific to the work environment

  • Excellent Teamwork skills-ability to build positive relationships that promote teamwork and a positive working environment

  • Quality Management & Awareness 

  • Experience in Continuous Improvement

  • Mechanical Aptitude

  • Able to motivate people, specifically mentoring and coaching individuals to meet goals of the production area

  • Inventory Management experience

  • Strong computer skills that include Microsoft Office and ability to adapt and utilize other programs

  • Able to read blueprints and other technical documentation

  • Must be able to demonstrate lock-out/tag-out and confined area procedures, and help manage safety within team

  • Able to work within project timelines and budgets

  • Solid understanding of plant housekeeping fundamentals is essential

  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety; committed to working safely and following all policies and procedures

  • Able to distinguish normal/abnormal

  • Able to effectively communication with team members to successfully solve production & maintenance issues

  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching; able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs

  • Work extended days and/or weekends with flexibility and a strong work ethic

  • Able to troubleshoot, excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work

  • State issued valid Driver's License; commercial driver's license is a plus

  • Able to lift 75 pounds and climb ladders
