What you will do

Under general supervision, the Superintendent supervises the field construction process of assigned projects in accordance with the plans and specifications, to ensure that each phase of the work is completed on schedule, within the budget, and with the quality workmanship expected by the company and the customer The Superintendent supervises, inspects, reviews, records and reports on all site construction related activity ensuring that the assigned subcontractors perform their work on schedule. May supervise one or more projects at the same time.

Location: Will primarily be based at the Schofield Barracks and Tripler Medical Center sites, but may help support other sites as needed (military experience not required)

How you will do it

1.Understand and develop means and methods for the construction/installation requirements of the particular project (in conjunction with Project Manager).

2.Supervise and coordinate activities of all branch employees and subcontractors.

3.Perform quality control functions per contract (COE) requirements (submittal reviews, daily reports, preparatory meetings and other quality control program features).

4.Enforce, facilitate and follow Company and contract safety requirements. Perform SSHO functions per company standard practices and per contract (COE) requirement if required per the position.

5.Schedule and plan work tasks, monitor progress of work with schedule updates (in conjunction with Project Manager)

6.Prepare budgets and forecasts (in conjunction with Project Manager)

7.Coordinate inspections, verifications, tests, and other contractual requirements with client.

8.Participate in regular project/site meetings with subcontractors, architects, engineers, client representatives and other JCI groups.

9.Direct and coordinate subcontractor activities.



  1. Is the primary management team member on the site on a day to day basis to identify and correct issues or deficiencies and/or escalate issues and deficiencies up the management chain to Project Manager and/or regional management.

  2. Conducts extensive self study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.


What we look for

Required

1.Associates Degree in electronic or mechanical systems, or equivalent work experience.

2.Five or more years of project coordination and supervision of construction projects.

3.Excellent interpersonal skills for employee supervision and client interface.

4.The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)

Preferred

1.Experience working with projects at federal government and/or military sites

2.Experience working with HVAC related projects

3.OSHA 30 certification

In this role your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Perform daily inspections of work for Safety, Quality and Productivity. Assure proper planning and communication is happening for all operations that you oversee. Identify and solve problems. Establish budgetary targets for each mechanical operation and ensure that cost control measures are implemented. Ensure all quality control and quality assurance standards are fully implemented on every aspect of the mechanical work. Develop and manage mechanical schedules (e.g. Play of the Day, three week and 90 day), coordinate work with other crafts, departments, contractors and suppliers. District Overview Kiewit's Northwest District is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington.  We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, water resources, and underground utilities.
