TITLE: Site Safety Coordinator (Safety Coach)

EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Full Time, Salaried

LOCATION: Fort Lauderdale, FL; travel as needed

SHIFT: Day, flexible

REPORTS TO: Risk and Safety Director

OBJECTIVE/MISSION:

Coach, train, and enforce the Best Roofing Safe 365 Standards to all company employees in orientations, training sessions, on active job sites, and as needed so workers understand what Safe 365 really means.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Orientation Programs

  • Participate in orientation sessions to demonstrate, advocate, train, and coach safety standards and expectations.

  • Review the importance of safety with all new hires.

  • Discuss safety accountability and ensure new hires understand the safety policy and accountability process.

  • Training Sessions

  • Participate in training sessions as needed IE weekly crew meetings and Safety Committee Meetings.

  • Recruit field employees to join and participate in the safety committee meeting employees may change every quarter.

  • Partner with field operations to participate in department training sessions regarding tools, techniques, materials, etc. and advocate the safe ways to work.

  • Active Job Sites

  • Be present for site loading and unloading to monitor safety.

  • Visit active job sites within all operational divisions of the company on a daily basis.

  • Complete the company safety checklist for each site visit.

  • Provide coaching and recommend corrective actions to all field workers as needed you are their coach and helping them stay safe!

  • Document safety infractions with a Best Roofing Safety Violation Ticket; administer the ticket to employee(s) when infractions occur.

  • Conduct new hire safety PPO in conjunction with the employees individual supervisor(s).

  • Administration

  • Partner with management on all safety incidents to ensure the investigation is done thoroughly in a timely fashion.

  • Partner with management to ensure all employees are offered light duty when available and assist in monitoring that all light duty employees are working within any restrictions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • OSHA 30 certification required. Active OSHA 510 preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Construction industry experience required, roofing industry experience preferred.

  • Bachelors Degree preferred.

  • Proficiency in computer/technology such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Safety Audit and Compliance software required.

  • All crews receive two quality safety site audits/coachings per month.

  • Annual salary commensurate with experience.

VIEW JOBS 9/6/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-05T00:00 Overview The MOVE & Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring safe and timely movement of all aircraft by operating ground service equipment from all points on taxiways and ramp surfaces. Ensures that all aircraft moved in daily operations are completed by Spirit Airlines' safety standards. Responsibilities * Operate multiple aircraft system such as aircraft power unit, electrical, hydraulic and braking systems. * Communicate with both the air traffic control tower and local ramp control to successfully re position aircraft on the tarmac which includes active taxiways and runways. * Aid in securing and supporting aircraft on gates and in remote locations which includes the operation of ground service equipment (power units, air stairs, and air carts, ground power unit, tug, aircraft pushback, lavatory truck, deicing truck, etc.) * Responsible to adhere to all safety guidelines including pre and post move safety inspections. * Able to work in all types of weather conditions. * Must be able to operate and position Jetway safely to aircraft. * Guides aircraft to and from aircraft parking locations assuring area is clear of GSE, stands and any others items for safe movement. Assures Jetway is located in safe zone prior to positioning aircraft. * Capable of Brake Riding aircraft, operating radios and aircraft systems for safe movement. * Other duties as assigned per Management. * May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications * Valid Driver License is required. * High School Diploma or GED required. * Previous Ground Operations experience preferred. * Experience with basic work processing, email and office applications. * Ability to perform under pressure and fixed time constraints. * Must be able to pass a back ground check and obtain all necessary badging. * Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays. * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. * Must be able to use handheld radios and headsets to communicate with the cockpit, dispatch, and other team members. * Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs and work stands unassisted; work off of stands and lift trucks. * Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels. * Must have excellent communication and people skills; clearly write, read, and speak the English language.
