We are looking for engineers to join the Infrastructure Management Database team. In this role you would be working on developing the next generation of tools and automation to manage our growing database infrastructure. If you have strong development skills, love to solve complex and challenging problems, and want to participate in some of the most exciting open source and windows projects, we want to hear from you!


  • Help GoDaddy build automation and tooling to manage our growing database infrastructure

  • Participate in agile concepts such as daily stand-up meetings, task tracking boards, design and code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration and deployment

  • Work closely with internal partners to ensure that their assets are delivered quickly and with the highest quality

  • Work with the database services team to help build out, maintain, monitor and help customers make managing databases easier.


  • BS or master's degree in CS/CE or equivalent work experience.

  • Passion to develop high-quality and extraordinary solutions to real complex distributed-computing problems.

  • Understanding of standard web technologies (HTTP, JSON, etc).

  • Experience in developing RESTful API and services.

  • Experience in Configuration Management (Puppet, Ansible, SCOM etc).

  • Excellent Linux administration skills and understanding of system performance areas (memory, swap, disk, i/o, network i/o, etc).

  • Some experience with cloud computing environments and applications (AWS, GCP, and Azure).

  • Programming proficiency in programing languages such as Bash, Python, JavaScript, C.

  • Knowledge in relational databases (MySQL, or similar) .

  • Experience with source control systems (GIT) and software development disciplines.

  • Effective system design and problem-solving skills.

  • Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques.

  • Willingness to work in a dynamic agile environment and participate in all aspects of our agile process.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, team spirit, and positive approach.

  • Experience with DevOPs and understand systems like docker, OpenStack, Artifactory, Kubernetes or Docker a plus.

  • Experience contributing to or managing Open Source projects is a plus.

  • Participating in an on-call rotation.

A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. * Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. * Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. * Completes risk analysis studies of new design and processes. * Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. * Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. * Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. * May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. * As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. * May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data. Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or technical discipline with 4+ years of engineering or reliability experience; OR Master's degree in engineering, science or technical discipline with 4+ years of engineering or quality experience Nice to Have * Design For Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. * Certified Reliability Engineer accreditation from the American Society for Quality. * Basic understanding of concepts in electronics design, test, and manufacturing (functional safety, design for test, defect-based test, IDDq, burn-in, high-temperature operating life, etc.).. * Strong statistical analysis skills, including reliability statistics. * Experience with probabilistic model-based analysis scenarios (Monte Carlo and/or Bayesian system modeling, including Bayesian Belief Networks). * Experience with Minitab, JMP, Weibull++, or Matlab. * General understanding of FDA or other regulatory agency Quality Systems requirements.
