Site Reliability Engineer - VP
The strategic objective of the Cards & Payments Global SRE Team is to build, operate and maintain 24x7 Digital channels Reliability Engineering function. As a critical part of the delivery team you will ensure that resilience, stability and availability are built and operated into the fabric of the application and be responsible for the successful delivery of the end to end solution. What will you be doing?
As senior technologist you will offer technology solutions on public cloud adoption. This involves defining the best practices and architectural framework for Barclays International Technology to adopt Cloud quickly, engineering platforms, tools/practices/framework and model for adopting GoodBank principles. This involves managing multiple local and global stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
What we're looking for:
Skills that will help you in the role:
Familiarity with maintaining middleware components such as ConnectDirect, MQ, Jboss\Tomcat
Excellent understanding of the application Software Development Lifecycle and DevOps paradigm.
Familiarity with Agile Development practices
Expert in the theory and practice of TDD, BDD and IoC and the frameworks that implement them (Spring)
Expertise in CI/CD systems (e.g. Jenkins, Team City, etc.) at developer level is also a requirement.
Hands on development-team experience in either .net or Java stack, Angular JS and groovy.3
Expert in Spring (including Spring Boot), ORM (hibernate, hikari), etc.
The candidate should have solid problem solving skills and ability to fix problems, even if they are outside their main knowledge area, has to be adaptable and be a fast learner of new technologies, programming languages or frameworks.
Understanding of network infrastructure, firewall management and fault finding and fixing
