Site Operations Lead-Idaho
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Site Operations Lead, are to:
Collaborate with project team members to deliver detailed experimental protocols that enable advancement decisions by our scientists and placement decisions to our customers;
Lead the organization/delegation of day-to-day priorities of the site to include pre-season logistical trial planning, safety and compliance adherence in accordance with local and federal guidelines and in-season phenotyping activities;
Lead the development of the vegetables R&D teams based at the site to successfully deliver and develop our breeding pipeline;
Manage five-seven direct reports through motivation, recognition, leadership and providing clear and timely feedback;
Ensure that critical conversations, coaching and development planning are happening at the site and participate in development conversations across sites;
Develop and sustain a community engagement program/plan including but not limited to community volunteer efforts, sustainability activities and serve as a technical representative to external parties in partnership with Commercial, Marketing and other functions on agronomic topics such as product pipeline development, agronomy practices and compliance standards;
Implement innovative technology solutions designed to improve breeding processes and increase efficiency;
Drive the adoption of new tools and methodologies to improve overall operations and data capture;
Be accountable for compliance with regulated seed stewardship standards, complete and/or participate in safety inspections/training and comply with all policies and standard operating procedures;
Coordinate trials/protocols and offer training across network, influence partners on trial design, protocol development, data collection, develop/test new innovative solutions to improve data quality or to obtain higher throughput;
Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties - regardless of mileage.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Bachelor's Degree with at least 12 years of experience or Master's Degree with at least 10 years of experience or Ph.D. with at least six years of experience;
At least six years demonstrated people leadership experience with seasonal workers and/or full-time employees or managing a team of employees through project management experience;
Strong decision-making, prioritization and problem-solving skills;
Demonstrate flexibility in an agile work environment;
Strong computer skills related to data acquisition, organization and analysis;
Consistent demonstration of excellent communication and influencing skills;
Broad knowledge of crop production and farming practices;
Good working knowledge of research operations and ability to interpret / interact with large data sets;
Proven ability to help multiple stakeholders understand and advocate for modern agriculture;
Ability to delegate and trust decision making process deeper in the organization;
Valid Driver's License. Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company's Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers.
Domestic Relocation may be provided with this role.
