WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Site Merchandising Manager in Tools and Equipment, you are responsible for defining strategy for, planning and executing a best in class customer experience through effective site merchandising tactics. You will be directly responsible for optimizing the site experience for Tools and Equipment, leveraging cross functional partnerships to define priorities, analytics as the voice of the customer and competitive research to understand what is happening in the space. A successful candidate will have passion for product and merchandising, strengths in organization and process balanced with a creative eye. You will need to create business solutions in a fast paced, multi-dimensional environment, collaborating with cross-functional business leaders to drive business objectives and influence strategies.

  • Applies knowledge of customer behaviors and decision making and contributes to the development of the strategy for site features and functionality (including what makes the category unique).

  • Oversees evaluation of customer reviews, analyzes trends and patterns, and provides insights regarding buyer group preferences to optimize customer experience and drive category performance.

  • Leads the analysis of patterns and recommends modification of site features to category managers to fit the needs of the customer.

  • Oversees the visual merchandising presentation to best respond to customer demand and convert visits into sales.

  • Directs the display of and approves product attributes, images and content, and ensures proper taxonomy and attribution.

  • Understands market best practices for visual merchandise displays and builds plans to reflect first class presentation of products within categories.

  • Recommends site merchandising performance metrics and notifies category managers of variations in results.

  • Proactively requests new analytics from Retail Analytics function. Reviews reports of site traffic and patterns and performs insightful analytics to determine areas for optimization to drive conversion rates.

  • Partners with category teams to analyze category performance and advises on where changes to visual presentation may enhance sales conversion rates.

  • Works closely with campaign and program leads and cross-functional partners (e.g., Category Management, Pricing, Marketing, Engineering) to align on strategies and plans for category.

  • Serves as an advisor and partner to category manager, identifying potential enhancements or changes based on knowledge of the category, industry trends and customer behaviors.

  • Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance. Have performance and career development conversations.

  • Maintains team motivation and engagement.

  • Mentors Site Merchandising Specialists.

Category Review and Monitoring:

  • Recommends site merchandising performance metrics for a low-to-moderately complex category and notifies category managers of variations in results.

  • Proactively requests new analytics from Retail Analytics function.

  • Reviews reports of site traffic and patterns and performs insightful analytics to determine areas for optimization to drive conversion rates.

Collaboration:

  • Works closely with campaign and program leads and cross-functional partners (e.g., Category Management, Pricing, Marketing, Engineering) to align on strategies and plans for a low-to-moderately complex category.

  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments.

Customer Experience Optimization:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business or related field or equivalent experience

Your ultimate goal is to lower Variable Cost Per Unit (VCPU) and Total Cost Per Unit (TCPU) in order to support the growth of the e-commerce fulfillment network. Challenges you'll be tackling Assess and build new technologies: You will be assessing and designing new technologies, creating a pipeline of potential solution, effectively managing their evaluation, and driving development of solutions that are more than the sum of their collective parts. Architect warehouse execution system: You will be responsible for driving innovation through design and development of warehouse execution system. This will enable us to speed up the integration of innovative engineering solutions, incorporate optimization functions/modules, and decouple WMS and WCS functions. Champion the process of design and technology innovation in e-commerce fulfillment: You will be responsible for establishing an environment that speeds up the innovation cycle of continuous testing and iteration. Responsibilities Manage the technical research and design of next generation technologies to support the growth of the e-commerce fulfillment network. Lead the technical assessment of potential suppliers and assist with the selection, use and application of automated processes within the extended Walmart e-commerce fulfillment network. Establish solutions that support the vision for the implementation of cutting edge automated systems and solutions that enable the Walmart e-commerce fulfillment network to meet or exceed corporate goals. Constantly evaluate and assess new technologies and foster the development of next generation automated solutions that drive Walmart e-commerce growth. Ensure that technical assistance is provided to the Program Managers, General Managers (GMs), operations team leaders and maintenance personnel through the implementation, start-up and operation of new automation as needed. Aid the GMs and their teams with respect to properly leveraging the investment in automated equipment and overall fulfillment process, as needed. Help raise the technical capabilities of the facilities by assisting in the training of maintenance personnel and operations personnel. Provide training and assistance in writing Standard Operating Practices (SOPs), establishing Lean methodologies, maintenance and service procedures, parameter settings, etc., as needed. Provide guidance to all individuals as needed sharing experience and broad knowledge of industry technologies, equipment, and material handling solutions as well as lean process flow and continuous improvement tools, to break barriers and unlock the potential of the Fulfillment Engineering Organization. Travels up to 50% of the time Qualifications Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Science, Robotics, Automation) and 4-6 years of relevant experience. * 2+ years in a managerial/supervisor role, leading research and development engineers. * 2+ years experience leading product development/management role in AGV and robotics technology.
