Purpose
The Site Medical Director provides site and program leadership to ensure that the care provided meets Neighborcare Health's goals for quality, productivity and patient satisfaction. They are responsible for provider hiring, orientation and training, performance management, and completion of annual individual learning conversations. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Site Medical Director works with site and organizational leadership, as well as all members of the care team, to provide quality patient care. This role will work in partnership and joint accountability with other lead team members to achieve Neighborcare Health's goals and follow its mission and guiding principles.

About the clinics and the communities we care for:
Meridian Clinic is co-located with Valley Cities and Public Health and provides medical, dental and behavioral health to a wide range of patients in North Seattle. It is the second largest primary care clinic at Neighborcare Health.
Mercy Magnuson Place is an affordable housing development in Magnuson Park. Mercy Magnuson is a "pocket clinic" made up of a small, collaborative team. The patients of this clinic generally live in transitional and other affordable permanent housing on the campus or surrounding community.
In this position you will:
Direct Clinical Work
Provide patient care in continuity primary care clinic
Manage a panel of primary care patients alongside the 8 other PCPs
Work within an established system with referrals, prior authorization, pharmacy, social work and behavioral health support
Epic EHR
For interested Physicians, this position can OPTIONALLY include the opportunity to perform inpatient medicine attending work and/or OB deliveries (for Family Physicians) in partnership with a local Family Medicine residency. There is also the opportunity to provide prenatal care without deliveries
Indirect Clinical Work
Provide timely responses to EHR communications and test results. Provide feedback to appropriate teams and/or individuals when necessary.
Assure accurate and timely completion of all clinical records. Complete paperwork in a team-based approach.
Be "on call" three to four weeks a year, providing phone-based clinical support from home for critically abnormal labs etc.
( Inpatient medicine and/or OB deliveries would require additional call responsibilities.)
Supervision
Admin work is 0.3 FTE (three half-days/week)
Support and Supervise an enthusiastic group of physician, ARNP and PA-C primary care providers (8)
Provide ongoing coaching and support to providers and other clinical staff related to clinical medicine, workflow, and patient experience of care.
Provide supervision to providers through direct interactions or chart review. Work to ensure programs follow best clinical practices.
Hire, train and orient providers on clinical operations and functions. Address individual safety or performance issues - develop mitigation plans and coordinate with Clinic Administrator and/or the HR Team as needed.
Administrative Duties
Work as dyad partner with clinic administrator as clinical expert to operations
Monitor and communicate productivity to providers in partnership with clinic administrator.
Participate in regularly scheduled Neighborcare leadership meetings and leadership development activities.
Be a clinical champion for quality goals and QI work. Work to resolve issues identified by the team and escalate to the site lead team as needed.
Leads a team of support staff to assure site services meet or exceed the expectations of patients, coworkers, the public, and community standards.
Develop and implement organizational and strategic goals and monitor key performance indicators.
Assist in credentialing of staff, trainees and volunteers.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduation from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy
Completion of a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency
Licensed as a Physician (MD/DO) in the State of Washington
Current board certification (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) as appropriate to credentials
Current BLS Certification
DEA License
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Strong preference for experience as both a provider in direct patient care
Experience in leading and supervising people and/or teams
Contraceptive Implant Certification
Bilingual in a language frequently used by patients
Experience prescribing buprenorphine or other treatments for opioid use disorders, including past completion of a buprenorphine waiver certification course or specific continuing education to satisfy the requirements for the DEA's Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act.

Compensation
The wage range for the MD/DO position is: minimum $74.50/hour up to $111.82/hour maximum.
Compensation will be determined based on years of relevant experience.
