Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Manager Intern to support our construction and interior design projects. This position is ideal for a candidate with approximately 1 year of experience in construction or interior design, who is looking to gain hands-on experience in site management. The intern will work closely with senior site managers and project teams to ensure smooth on-site operations, adherence to timelines, and project quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Coordination and Support:
- Assist in coordinating daily on-site activities, ensuring that all project phases progress on schedule.
- Support the site manager in overseeing contractors, vendors, and workers to ensure adherence to project requirements.
Quality Control:
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain high standards of work and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the site manager and help implement corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, material usage, and labor hours.
- Assist with compiling site reports for project updates and reviews.
Safety Management:
- Support on-site health and safety initiatives, ensuring that all team members follow safety protocols.
- Help identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
Inventory and Material Management:
- Track and manage material deliveries and usage, ensuring that supplies are available as needed.
- Report any shortages or quality concerns with materials to the site manager.
Client and Team Communication:
- Collaborate with the project team, contractors, and clients to ensure clear communication and understanding of project goals.
- Serve as a point of contact on-site for questions or issues that arise, escalating concerns as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Approximately 1 year of relevant experience in a construction or interior design company.
- Basic knowledge of construction and interior design processes, materials, and quality standards.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Procore) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
