The Site Manager/Field Superintendents (SM/FS) responsibility is to supervise the field construction of a project and to complete all work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmanship specified. In the performance of this function, it is the SM/FSs responsibility to protect and promote Cascades/Panthers interests in all matters and to do whatever is reasonably necessary to discharge his duties and responsibilities which include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following.
Establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with crew and client, while promoting positive project morale
Have thorough knowledge and understanding of the General Contract, each Subcontract, the contract drawings, specifications and agenda to assist in the development of the on-site procedures.
Assist the Project Manager in the development of the project schedule. Work with the Project Manager to keep the schedules updated and ensure that the job meets the various required dates.
Plan and review the Operations and H&S Plans with the Project Manager, including quality control procedures, safety and security practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment and manpower.
Verify with the Project Manager that each Subcontractor has completed his contractual requirements as condition precedent to beginning his work at the jobsite.
See that all required permits or licenses have been obtained.
Chair weekly coordination meetings and monthly safety meetings with subcontractors and issue minutes to the Project Manager.
Ensure application of the CORE Safety Program and supervise participants required by the Program
Operation and maintenance of heavy construction equipment at assigned work sites
Review and approve all time and material work vouchers and invoices.
Manage and Supervise field staff, including operators and laborers, daily.
Preparation of Field Daily Reports outlining hours of work, materials consumed, and subcontractors present as well as any other relevant site observations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Employees must be able to read blueprints and have an understanding of project cost analysis
Must be willing to travel to away projects on an as-needed basis
Knowledge and usage of laser level or instruments to read and set grade
40-hour OSHA training; Valid Drivers License
Possess trade skills at a workers capability level; such as operating heavy equipment, welding and torch cutting, plumbing and pipe fitting, knowledge of electric, pneumatic, gasoline and diesel-powered tools and equipment
