We are seeking a reliable and experienced Site Leader to lead our Teterboro, NJ processing facility. As a Site Leader, you will be responsible for all safety, budgetary, people development and operations objectives for the site. This position reports directly to the VP of Operations.

At Kaiyo, our processing facilities are the heart of operations. Our operators are out in the field rain and shine, driving our trucks, talking to customers, and doing the heavy-lifting by picking up and delivering furniture. In the warehouse, they care for the items throughout their life-cycle by performing a variety of work, like washing, assembling and photographing to get the furniture ready for their next owners. Our operations management team, under the guidance of our Site Leader, ensures that all functions are executed efficiently and to a high standard. Candidates should be highly motivated, friendly, professional and love building and growing teams. You should be a quick learner who is comfortable with change and the fast-paced nature of a dynamic start-up environment. You should be comfortable working in a VC backed company. What you'll do:

  • Lead, manage, build, and execute to ensure successful day-to-day operations and efficient scaling of operations with complete PnL ownership of the facility.

  • Hire and continuously develop the management team through hands-on management style and on the floor leadership. Our Site Leader directly manages 3-5 mid level managers and provides overall leadership to 125-150 employees.

  • Directly manage a wide range of activities, such as facility management, fleet management, employee relations with minimal face time with field employees, partner coordination, VIP customer experience, exception management, safety incident reporting and claim creation

  • Flexibility to stretch wide (broad range of domain) and up/down (handle and cover for different levels)

  • Run the operations minimal support and resources, requiring hands-on and direct approach

  • Lead employee relations activities involving the facility, including de-escalation, cultivating a culture of respect and professionalism by example.

  • Leverage data and maintain systems to collect metrics and set performance targets.

  • Manage and report through metrics, monitor performance against targets and develop reporting and auditing processes. Utilize data to identify underlying issues and address them.

  • Challenge status quo, bring diverse approaches to problems, come up with creative solutions, follow through to implement change and create the frameworks to set new processes up for scale

  • Ensure facility safety and security, ensure procedures and training are in place and that operations are in compliance with all required regulations

  • Set policies and make recommendations for decisions guiding productivity, quality, and cost efficiency of operations

  • Act as the liaison for operations, assisting with supporting functions including technology, finance, materials, quality assurance, and human resources to ensure alignment

What you have:

  • 8+ years of operational experience with PnL ownership that includes warehouse logistics and/or production/manufacturing environments with working knowledge of Lean techniques, such as Kaizen and/or Six Sigma methodologies

  • Team leadership experience from a managerial position in a fast-paced environment, preferably including experience at an early-stage company.

  • Tech-forward and data-centric with proven analytical thinking, project management skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and great attention to detail.

  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills are required as well as demonstrated quantitative problem-solving experience.

  • Willingness to stretch upwards and downwards as needed, demonstrated skills to know when to delegate and when to roll up the sleeves and get the job done

  • Having an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong Bias for Action, with the tenacity to develop ideas, test and implement them rapidly

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with all seniority levels

Pay and Perks:

  • Competitive salary between 150 and 170k
