The Lead Technician provides field install and service deliverables related to security system deployments in a variety of environments on different types of systems. This may include both hardware and software related deliverables. Basic installation, troubleshooting and repair methodologies are employed daily. Customer service aptitude and attitude is essential in the performance of duties, as well, exhibiting highly developed skills in communication with all levels of system users.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Field install position for access control, intrusion, CCTV and other physical security systems.

  • Lead small teams, including subcontractor teams, in varied activities involving both installation and service delivery routines.

  • Must be dedicated and career oriented in a customer service environment

  • Directs team members and performs routine installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance procedures for hardware and application software

  • Provides system configuration for desired operational routines in various application programs

  • Assist in planning schedules, laying out basic electronic equipment installations, and assist in the installation, testing and commissioning of new system installations.

  • Must have aptitude and desire to perform advanced troubleshooting, programming and configuration associated with industry software packages, operating systems and hardware.

  • Present a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance.

  • Perform work assignments in a safe manner and within specified cost limits.

  • Promote, build, and maintain good customer relations and assists with contract retention.

  • Keep abreast of changes and new developments in products and technology.

  • Attend and complete training programs as requested.

  • Maintain company propriety documentation in accordance with established policies; handle proprietary information in the prescribed manner; adhere to and supports Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, Inc. policies and procedures including all safety requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • US Citizenship due to contractual requirements

  • Minimum 3 experience in electronic security systems

  • A valid state driver's license, without restrictions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational/Technical Degree in electrical, security or computer systems preferred

  • Prior experience working in data center environment preferred

  • Climb ladders that extend up to 24 ft. in height

  • Carry items up to 75 pounds

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying climate conditions

  • Ability to work on-call covering after hours & weekend emergency calls

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact in a team environment and build relationships

Specific activities relative to the job function could include: Dock Management (Shipping & Receiving) and Mail Services. This position will utilize the systems and applications relevant to the job function, such as: SAP and the Microsoft Office suite. Strong communication skills are required. Responsibilities: * Shipments, including packing of samples, dangerous goods and palletized freight, domestic and international. * Receiving, unloading and processing of incoming packages. * Deliver inbound freight or packages to various locations throughout site. * Work with end-user to coordinate shipments and deliveries. * Mail Sorting, Mail Pick Up and Delivery. * Drive Company truck between Post Offices and site. * Follow procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP's & Work Instructions. * Take direction from Site Supervisor/Manager (and Team Lead) regarding daily activities. * Communicate with Supervisor any customer issues or potential problems. * Embrace Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies. * Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations. * Capture monthly metrics as determined by Supervisor. * Maintain Shipping and Receiving supplies. * Daily use of power industrial vehicles, such as electric pallet jacks, forklift and walkie-stacker. * Strong attention to detail in safety protocols. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: * Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. * Must have 2-5 years of progressive relevant experience. * Valid Driver's License required. * Demonstrate verbal, written and presentation skills. * Display a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific. * Proven excellence in customer service skills. * Detail oriented, problem solver, promote team environment. * Computer/software skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). * Experience in laboratory setting preferred. Preferred Knowledge/Qualifications: * Working knowledge of UPS and FedEx shipping systems * Shipping experience (Domestic and International) * Operation of Postage Machines (i.e. Pitney Bowes) * Hazardous material handling * 49 CFR/IATA certification * SAP experience Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: * Must possess a strong desire to serve the customer and the interpersonal skills to deal with various levels of personnel at the customer site. * Must deliver excellent customer service to include maintaining a professional appearance at all times. * Must possess the operating skills to use hand held scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as necessary. * Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed. * Must be proficient with a computer and the Microsoft Office Suite software. * Have demonstrated initiative in previous work experience. * Expanded tactical thinking that considers the impact on the broader organization. * Must possess a high level of communication skills to provide guidance to others in performing the work, to effectively present information and respond to questions or customer service requests and interact with various levels of the customer's organization. * Must be able to provide suggestions for corrective action and preventive customer service. Working Conditions: * Work primarily at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments. * May be required to work independently at customer location. * Extensive walking may be required. * May pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc). * Must be able to lift, push and/or pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs. * Must be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks. * Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets and/or safety gloves. * Must be willing to work hours required to get the job done.
