Overview

Inovalon is the nation's largest medical record reviewer. To accomplish this, Inovalon utilizes Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Medical Clerks to go to physician offices, clinics, hospitals, and other clinical facilities to obtain and/or review medical data. Inovalon does these reviews in all 50 states around the nation.

Inovalon is currently recruiting Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Medical Clerks to perform medical record reviews in the field. Inovalon offers highly competitive hourly compensation as well as compensation for mileage traveled. Inovalon reviewers are provided with a laptop and full abstraction and technology training. Both part-time and full-time hours are available.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently conduct medical record review/abstraction services;

  • Scan relevant components of the medical record to support reviews performed;

  • Electronically download review assignments to the laptop and data collection tool; daily upload completed assignments and scanned medical records;

  • Participate in required training;

  • Complete quality, accuracy and inter-rater reliability testing as requested in a timely manner;

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with care provider offices, clinics, hospitals, other clinical facilities and Inovalon staff;

  • Travel to medical facilities in specified area of region from home to complete review services as assigned by Inovalon;

  • Represent Inovalon with medical facility staff; and

  • Abide by all HIPAA and associated patient confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Clerk;

  • Clinical experience; prefer experience in performing chart abstractions;

  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines;

  • Computer literate and detail oriented;

  • Professionally skilled in verbal and written communication;

  • Available to perform reviews no less than 24 hours a week;

  • Must be willing to travel; and

  • Must have high speed internet access.

Operational duties include supervising a staff of clinicians as well as providing individual and group therapy to identified clients. Required Education and Experience: * Master's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field and registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling for clinical supervision working toward licensure. * Two years of experience providing mental health services to individuals in a clinical setting that meets the requirements of a QMHP-C is required. * Supervisory experience preferred. Related Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Ability to address performance concerns in a constructive manner. * Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships. * Ability to identify and measure outcomes. * Ability to manage a budget and stay within budget expectations. * Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community. * Ability to record data and complete documentation within established expectations and by communicated deadlines. * Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner. * Ability to work in and contribute to a collaborative team environment. * Ability to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required. * Knowledge of behavior modification; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies;, psychosocial education; risk assessments; etc. * Knowledge of clinical supervision requirements and techniques. * Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access to community resources. * Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse. * Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments. * Skill to effectively manage employee performance, communicate expectations and objectively rate performance of assigned employees. * Skill to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques. * Skill to communicate effectively in order to facilitate treatment and relay information to others as part of an interdisciplinary team. * Skill to develop reports, create presentations and communicate findings to both internal and external audiences. * Skill to perform clinical interviews in order to obtain information and to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
