Position Summary
This position will be based in Elon, NC and will require travel to Dublin, Ireland for the entire fall 2024 semester. The position will develop domestic and international programming for the Elon Global Start program in coordination with partner institution and program vendors. The position will recruit and mentor student participants while providing support to students for duration of study.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree and previous experience working with first year college participants.
Study abroad experience required.
Preferred Education and Experience
Elon graduate preferred
Required Other Training, Certifications, or Licensing
Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a valid U.S. passport
Job Duties
Training and Program preparation
Start in early August 2024 through May 2025. First weeks prior to departure include training and coordination of fall calendar and events.
Must partake in weekly meetings with on campus team throughout the fall semester.
Works with Big Pond Staff to ensure successful planning and execution of events.
Programming execution
Directs and implements all facets of EGS programming development both abroad and on Elon campus including planning, dissemination of information to participants, and execution of events throughout entire fall semester.
Plans and coordinates social programming for EGS participants. Creates 3 - 5 programs on-campus to support transition into Elon during Spring semester.
Plans and coordinates cultural experiences with EGS participants specific to the location abroad. Works with partner institutions to facilitate programming to support participants.
Mentoring
Meets with participants on a regular basis to ensure a successful transition during Fall semester and to Elon in the Spring semester.
Leads participants in their use of resources offered by Big Pond and on campus resources to support retention efforts for the program.
Mentors and guides participants so they develop the proper academic, campus, and personal life.
Assessment
Supports Pre-Departure Orientation for EGS participants and families departing in Fall semester.
Supports Orientation for EGS participants and families arriving in Spring semester.
Recruitment
Recruitment of program participants.
Special Instructions to Applicants: This position will reside in Dublin, Ireland for the entire fall 2024 semester.
