VIEW JOBS 3/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-13T00:00 <p><br></p><p><strong>Consultancy Summary</strong></p><p>The MusicianShip uses music to alter the life trajectory of youth, thereby creating a more vibrant, educated, empowered, and well-intentioned world. We offer a range of programs for our students, designed to further develop them as musicians and public citizens. Our programs include an After-School Program (Marching Band, Choir), Ambassador Program (Clinics, Online Education), a Music Lesson Matchmaking Program, and a Summer Program (Marching Band, Choir, Music Business, and Music Media). Reporting to the Program Manager, the Instructor will work directly with The MusicianShip’s youth participants as both an educator and a mentor.</p><p>Instructors will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students, in accordance with The MusicianShip’s curriculum and organizational goals. As a member of the Instructor team, the Instructor works within the guidelines, policies, and mission of the organization, and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as requested.</p><p></p><p><strong>Work Environment &amp; Operations</strong></p><p>The MusicianShip operates virtually without a central office. However, our programs operate in various schools and community centers throughout Washington D.C. The position may require up to 50% virtual work and 50% travel to assigned program sites, trainings, outreach activities, supply pick-up, etc. This position prohibits the transporting of program participants in personal vehicles. Approved mileage and expense reimbursements are available with appropriate documentation. Company communication is executed mostly through email and teleconference. This part time position requires up to 12 hours per week with availability on weekdays in the afternoon and evenings along with some weekends.</p><p></p><p><strong>Duties &amp; Deliverables</strong></p><p>The SYEP Administrative Site Coordinator performs a wide range of duties including, but not limited to, the following: </p><p><i>Planning</i></p><ul> <li>Attend DOES mandated trainings and events to support the SYEP Program</li> <li>Attend meetings as needed with the Director of Community Engagement to discuss Dianne’s Recital financials</li> <li>Develop systems for SYEP Participants to inquire about payroll or timekeeping by collaborating with the Director of Youth Programs</li> <li>Ensure space needed for activities is available by confirming the appropriate paperwork has been completed and submitted to DCPS, MusicianShip or other appropriate entities</li> <li>Develop forms and records to document program activities such as field trip documents</li> </ul><p><i>Organizing </i></p><ul> <li>Ensure that program staff operate within the policies and procedures of the organization</li> <li>Ensure that program staff comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards</li> <li>Create classroom schedules with the help of the Programs Coordinator by assessing site space and availability needs</li> <li>Collect and manage student timekeeping by organizing and collecting timesheets</li> <li>Collect field trip permission slips and enrollment documents and file according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization</li> </ul><p><i>Staff Recruitment</i></p><ul><li>Implement the human resources policies, procedures and practices of the organization</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure that all program staff receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the policies by hosting trainings with the Director of Youth Programs</li></ul><p><i>Supervisory Role </i></p><ul> <li>Ensure all staff members complete orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards by communicating with the Human Resource Manager</li> <li>Provide direction, input, and feedback to promote staff efficiency and effectiveness</li> <li>Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the Program and to solicit input to improve the Program</li> </ul><p><i>Program Funding and Reporting </i></p><ul> <li>Ensure that the program operates within the approved budget by approving spending with the Director of Youth Programs</li> <li>Provide Accounting Team and Director of Youth Programs with necessary receipts for program expenses by emailing digital copies</li> <li>Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks</li> <li>Submit timesheets to DOES on a weekly basis to ensure SYEP Participants are paid in a timely manner</li> <li>Submit invoices to DOES as requested by the Director of Youth Programs</li> </ul><ul> <li> </li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><i>Knowledge, skills and abilities</i></p><ul> <li>Demonstrated knowledge and experience in payroll or timekeeping</li> <li>Strong communication skills</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of the administrative needs of an education-based youth program</li> </ul><p><i>Proficiency in the use
