Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage process improvement projects to generate hard, measurable savings of at least $250K per year.
Analyze, investigate, secure funding to implement programs that provide major cost, quality and responsiveness improvements.
Verify proper specifications are in place at all processes within each division to insure delivery of quality products (i.e. audit and verify that correct formulations and processing parameters are in use in compounding operations).
Provide technical assistance on specifications, process controls, and process guidelines.
Facilitate resolution and disposition of out of spec material either from raw material suppliers, compounding, and/or coating.
Communicate and coordinate information regarding process changes in a clear, timely and harmonious manner.
Monitor and follow EHS rules and best practices.
Verify systems are in place for accurate inventory management at CCL.
Insure that adequate lab facilities and test equipment are available to effectively conduct process checks.
Provide assistance and direction for the development of skills training programs for operators.
Interact with customers to provide them with understanding of our processes and assist in solving their problems or concerns.
Assist in the development of new products and processes primarily in the area of functional films.
Network and collaborate with other engineers and managers on site to transfer learning, expertise, and opportunities between businesses.
Ability to effectively lead/train others when sharing new information and processes.
Other duties as driven by business needs and as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Troubleshooting, process optimization, and cost reduction experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills - verbal and written - internal and external
Computer skills (Mac a plus). Auto-Cad and/or Adobe Illustrator competency preferred
Capable of working remotely/traveling 10% of time
Able to handle multiple tasks
Working knowledge of EHS and DOT requirements
Capable of managing through changing priorities
Ability to work flexible hours when needed
Education and Experience:
B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical or Material Science Engineering or related field
3 + years experience in manufacturing environment or logistics preferred
Six Sigma and lean experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Must be able to access the production floor adhering to all safety and security protocols.
