Job Description:

Plans,organizes and provides oversight and accountability for clinical informationsystems services and activities for one or more hospitals or business units. Actsas clinical I.S. point person for assigned site(s). Participates infacility-level technology strategy decisionsof enterprise clinical information systems. Ensures technology decisionsand deployments support clinical, financial and operational goals of individualsites.

Leadsthe site planning process, analyzes key business initiatives and informationneeds which support, influence and transform business operations and strategy.
2.Ensuresthe adoption and utilization of electronic health records and other informationtools for assigned site(s).
3.Utilizesknowledge of Computerized Prescriber Order Entry (CPOE), clinicaldocumentation, ancillary computer systems (i.e. pharmacy, laboratory,radiology, etc), and data management and reporting tools to improveperformance.
4.Leveragesinformation systems to optimize workflows, improve clinical performance andoutcomes and leads efforts to achieve clinical, financial and operationalimprovement for site(s).
5.Responsible for site implementation of clinicalelectronic medical record (EMR) to support clinical care, patient safety, andquality.
6.Participatesin enterprise design activities and collaborates with OCIO and clinicians todesign and implement new applications ensuring integration and data sharingcapabilities, including HIE and ACO initiatives.
7.Liaiseswith community physicians to develop partnerships and methodologies forinteroperability and data reporting.
8.Selects,develops, manages and evaluates direct reports. Ensure performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.
9.Performs related duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Doctorof Medicine Degree from medical school as recognized by the World HealthOrganization, required.

  • Licensedand registered as a Physician in the State of New York, required.

  • Postgraduate training in any specialty, required.

  • Minimumof five (5) years progressively responsible experience including a minimum ofthree (3) years experience at the attending level.

  • Minimumof three (3) years experience with electronic health records implementations,required.
