The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable with analyzing and synthesizing information so that it can be communicated in a simple and easily-understandable way to internal and external stakeholders. Host-site partners are in Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Chapel Hill, Spring Lake and Hillsborough. We seek to build the capacity of our host sites to support low-income community members in increasing their income, through employment or microenterprise. VISTA's Leader experiences in the Growing Household Income project will include: •Assist in coordination of three training sessions for a group of 11 VISTAs•Lead monthly conference calls with VISTA group to assess training and resource needs•Develop and publish online newsletter of VISTA activities to communicate with colleagues, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and funders•Assist VISTAs in overcoming on-site challenges to ensure a positive experience•Provide encouragement to VISTA group on their activities, including community maps to job, microenterprise, and financial capability resources•Strategize for local partnership creation •Coordinate collection of data from VISTAs, clarify points in reports with VISTAs, collate and categorize data and information from VISTAs•Assist the Executive Director in resource development activities supporting the Growing Household Income project•Update facebook and twitter accounts with VISTA activities•Attend meetings in Raleigh targeted to employment and microenterprise development•Cultivate relationships with local workforce development groupsWe seek individuals who work collaboratively and independently, take initiative and responsibility for their assigned tasks, have a positive attitude and are able to influence others, demonstrate an interest in learning, and are committed to anti-poverty effortsWe require a Bachelor's degree and offer a variety of benefits.
