Summary

This position will be the pioneer in deploying simulation capabilities to our company. The Simulations Architect will coordinate how virtualization/emulation/simulation supports software engineering and deployment of automation products. This role will lead efforts to research and deploy solutions that advance simulation capabilities at MiTek. Additionally, this individual will support and train software engineering department on these new simulation capabilities.

The Simulations Architect will act as a specialist in the design and architecture of complex simulation systems used to model and simulate real-world processes, systems, or environments in various domains, such as manufacturing and software. The role combines technical expertise, system design, and domain knowledge to create effective and efficient simulation solutions.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities

  • System Design: Responsible for the overall design of simulation systems.

  • Technology Selection: Research and choose the appropriate simulation system tools, frameworks, and technologies.

  • Initiative: Proven record of being self-led. Takes the initiative to accomplish goals and deliver value.

  • Collaboration: Effective communicator and influencer responsible for collaborating with domain experts, software engineers, quality engineers, sales, and customer experience to ensure simulation systems meet all objectives.

  • Validation and Verification: Simulation results must be validated and verified against real-world data to build trust and ensure accuracy and reliability. This role would be responsible for designing strategies to accomplish this.

  • Highly effective in digesting data and needs and applying solutions as appropriate.

  • Develop modeling and simulation tools and/or use industry tools to analyze complex technical problems relating to various automation systems.

  • Identify and document significant process, tooling, and layout issues early in the launch process.

  • Maintain and improve large-scale simulations to support multiple applications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Systems Engineering or related field. Additional, equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • 5+ years of experience developing simulation tools and solutions.

  • Experience with Python and SolidWorks is required.

  • Visual Components experience preferred.

  • C#/Java preferred.

  • CAD/OPC UA/PLC experience preferred.

  • Robotics Controls experience preferred.

  • Expertise in developing and deploying modeling and simulation strategies.

  • Experience working with automated machinery or equipment preferred.
