We are searching for a talented Simulation Software Engineer to join our development team. We are looking for an excellent programmer to put on a variety of projects and collaborate with a larger software development team focused on modeling, simulation, visualization, and data analysis development tasks.

Aptima currently has an opening for a senior-level Software Engineer in the Product Engineering Group who will help develop tools for assessing and augmenting human performance. We are seeking a highly motivated professional that can work as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team. This position will involve software requirements analysis, detailed design, implementation and test of individual software modules along with development and testing of software systems and software applications. In addition the senior Software Engineer position will be responsible for executing technical vision across multiple projects at the individual and team level, and will be responsible technical leadership one or more individual or team-based projects. Aptima's engineers develop and modify object-oriented software components, develop interfaces between existing simulation components, design new components for existing software applications, and coordinating with other team members throughout the software development life-cycle. Aptima's solutions span the human continuum from the micro to the macro from the neural/individual level up to teams, large groups, and complete societies. Minimum requirements: * US Citizen (we cannot accept visa holders or permanent residents) * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field and 15 years demonstrated experience, or Master's + 10 years demonstrated experience * Demonstrated mastery in multiple programming languages including C++, C#, JavaScript and .Net Core * Mastery of software engineering tools (e.g. IDE's such as NetBeans, Visual Studio, version control including Gitlab, etc.) * Successful track record of technical management across multiple projects and teams using different software development environments * Excellent within-project team and customer-focused written and oral communication skills The ideal candidate will have experience and proficiency with: * C#, JavaScript, Angular 2, Net Core topics, Java, and C++ * User interface development for Desktop and/or Web applications * Network and socket-level programming and demonstrated experience using TCP/UDP * Experience with DIS/HLA or other modeling and simulation protocols * Author of technical publications and/or other technical achievements * Experience with technical project leadership at individual and team level All applicants selected will be subject to a background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
